Earlier this morning around 4:00 AM I woke up to a strange noise.
I' was still dazed from waking up so I just sat there trying to figure out what it was. Eventually I figured it was somesort of big truck going down the road. The sound subsides. Just as I rolled back over to sleep I hear it again. This time I was pretty sure I knew what it was.
Someone was sitting in my driveway revving their engine over and over.
So I look out the window to see somesort of purple car I'd never seen in mylife and I couldn't see who was in the car due to the head lights.
I was quite POed by being woken to such stupid behavior, I retrieved and loaded my PC-9 carbine. Instead of walking out the front door which would have put me right in his headlights I walked out the side door of my house and approaced the car from the side.
To my surprise it appeared there was no one in the car. I spun around for a moment not knowing where this guy(s) was. It took me a moment to realize the driver had his seat laid back.
The driver was blackman in his late 40s or early 50s with gray dreadlocks. I wasn't sure if he was passed out or dead or what. I rapped his window for a few times before he finally woke up and rolled the window down.
I asked him who he was and what the hell he was doing in my driveway. He looked very drunk and mumbled "huh? who are?" when I asked him. I didn't ask again. Instead I told him he had 10 seconds to get out of my driveway or I was calling the police. "what? You're not the police" he replied. He didn't seem to notice I was armed.
At this point I was convinced that he was some drunk who couldn't find his house. I walked behind his car and memorized his plate and told him I was going to call the police and to wait right here.
I went back inside and called the police. As I was talking to them he apparently decided it was time to get out of Dodge.
Police come and they find him eventually. (about an hour ago) Turns out he was the son of school teacher who lives near and was visiting from California.
I few years before a drunk hispanic guy forgot which house he was living in and tried to force his way into my Grandmothers house (on the same street) and me and my step-brother came up behind him with my my SAR-1 and held him there until the a lone PD cop came and took him away.
Heh. What a night. And I have an interview job at 10:00 AM.
