after months of desire i went out today and bought an 870 express mag. I took it dove hunting tonight and it would seem that the doves were scared.....didnt even see one let alone take a shot at one. so i shot a couple of half water filled soda cans that we found that my dad threw for me. I like it!!!! (yes i took the cans and threw them away)

Congrats on the new gun, Pat! I've been dove hunting close to the Mexican border this season.

Did you go to shoot them in the evening? Please, for your own sake, remember that during the September season in AZ, doves may only be shot from sunup until noon. And that ends tomorrow. Back at it in November.

Quail season starts in a few weeks, though, and rabbits are in season year-round.

take another look at the regs the until noon only applies in certain units...and 19a is not one of those units. But thank you for your concern. You actually made me look a second time.
