Well I just figured it out

For the longest time I have never understood why some government officials mostly liberals want to take our guns. Then I saw this thread and the op mad me realize the reason.http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=371343

What I realized was that they could really care less about the actual act of taking our guns. They just want us to be more dependant upon the government. They have always been about big government and the more we depend upon them the bigger they can make it. If they have our guns we will need them to defend us. Its that simple.

Now please no insults here I just refused for so long to look at things through their eyes.

Sometimes I think the N.R.A. isn’t really about guns at all. It’s about making certain that the public — our political and civil society, in other words — has no ability to limit the rights of an individual. That is really what the logic of the “concealed carry” and “shall require” and “shoot first” laws says.

Guns make a perfect test case, because the end result is an armed cohort that is very prickly about its personal rights. The N.R.A. has armed the thousands of Minnesotans who applied for a permit once the “concealed carry” law passed. But it has disarmed the public by making sure that legislators will no longer vote for gun laws that protect the rest of us.

Control vs. Esteem

It is about control. But to what end? Some say the purpose is to keep us docile so that the plutocrats can maintain their comfortable status quo, and I tend to agree with that. If we have no guns, we have very little power. If we have very little power, then it makes us easier to control. If they have control, then god knows what they will want to do with us.
