I have been a firearms owner and entheusiast since the mid to late 50s' ,couldn't afford then to feed the habit as well as I would have liked, still can't, but now I do own at least two firearms that could be affected by a new awb, and I will fight any effort to reinstate it or any laws other than the constitution with any means I can.

This potential AWB is more significant as communications are much more efficient now. You aren't dependant on what some newspaper decides to write in your local paper or waiting for a gun mag to update you legislatively.

I knew the 94 AWB went into place. I mostly knew what gun vendors told me at gunshops and gunshows.

I certainly didn't read the bill or much aware of its contents. But now, folks will actually be reading the proposed bills via the internet prior to voting (or they can). I wasn't "on" the internet until 1996 and didn't even know about gun forums or any kind of public web-based forum existing until about the time I joined THR.

I was heavy into shooting prior to '94 and the AWB was little more than a inconvienence to me. largest problem for me is it helped and continues to help criminals as now they still have many places still holding on to the ban for playgrounds where the oppressed law abiding citizen is out gunned.

I was active duty Navy during the ban and shot only the guns they issued. I had only a passing interest in owning a gun until a few years after the ban expired.
