What’s your wallet (pack actually)

When deer hunting, calls if anything. I’m not far from the house. Well, my inlaws’ house.
When I went out west, though, I carried everything I’d need for spike camp including sleeping, eating, first aid, water filtration, skinning, pretty much everything. My “wallet” was an 85 liter kelty pack. I got quite a workout.

Also, none of the posts I read mention TOILET PAPER.
A few of the posts did mention toilet paper (TP). I didn't mention it in my post because I've always gotten by with the paper towels and paper napkins (and a few wet-wipes) folded and stuffed in various pockets and in my little fanny pack. I did however carry the real thing (real toilet paper) and a small plastic trowel when I was into backpacking and planning on being out for several days at a time.

I'm one of the boys scout types (army actually) so I carry a bunch of chit in my pack, or in a Bino Chest pack:

Binos (Chest pack)
Lens Cleaning "stuff" (Chest pack)
Tag(s) (Chest pack)
Pen(s) (Chest pack & Backpack)
GPS (Chest pack)
Headlamp (Chest pack) (another light I carry on my person)
Compass (Chest pack)
Extra ammo (Chest pack)
Toilet paper
Orange flagging tape, wrapped around a pen; for marking blood trails and downed animals.
Spare knife (Blaze Orange Mora)
Tripod (most of the time, unless I know I'm hunting from a stand)
Laser Range Finder (Chest pack)
Water
Snacks
Spare socks
Paracord
Small 1st Aid kit with Quickclot
Fire kit
Old Credit card with electrical and 100MPH tape wrapped on it, to fix chit.
Seasonal Snivel Gear as needed: hand muff, face mask, gaiters, hand-warmers, orange knit cap

Deer dressing kit: Blue nitrile gloves, Vet artificial insemination gloves (go up to shoulder, keep my shirt/jacket clean), ziplock bag for tenderloins, deer drag rope, Wyoming Saw, flex ties for putting tag on animal.

Also, none of the posts I read mention TOILET PAPER.
Not quite correct.. 9th item on my list..

Instead of toilet paper, I carry the blue shop paper towels. I carry a dozen or so folded up in a quart freezer Ziplock bag.
No vet exam gloves! But some of the heavy black wrist length gloves.

Also, two 16oz water bottles.

For hunting in S.E., my pack is minimalist. But includes aspirin, naproxen, a a day’s worth of medication.

It depends on what I'm hunting where. When hunting deer or something else at home, I usually don't even carry a pack but just take the following:
  • Bino harness
    • Binos
    • Wind detector
    • Lens cloth
    • License/tag
    • Chap stick
  • Pockets
    • Rangefinder
    • Headlamp
    • Extra ammo or release
  • Knife (on belt)
  • I might bring a water bottle or coffee and some snacks and toilet paper if I plan to sit all day in one sitting (rare)
  • First aid kit, toilet paper, food, water, sharpies, etc. are all back in the pickup, which is never more than a mile away and often a lot less.

If I'm hunting elk out west, then I carry a daypack with the following:
  • Bino harness
    • Binos
    • Wind detector
    • Lens cloth
    • Diaphragm calls
    • Adapter to mount binos on tripod
    • Chap stick
    • InReach
    • Compass
    • Rangefinder
  • Backpack
    • Water (2-3L, in bladder when not freezing or bottles in late season)
    • Lunch and snacks
    • Rain jacket (usually but not always)
    • Tripod (when rifle hunting but not for archery)
    • Jacket/outer layer for layering
    • Gloves (always at least a lightweight liner glove); may also add stocking hat or other things when it's cold
    • Toilet paper and baby wipes in ziploc bag
    • Headlamp
    • iPhone with downloaded maps (for GPS)
    • Small battery bank and cords (to recharge iPhone and InReach)
    • Extra ammo or release
    • Kill Kit
      • License/tag
      • 2 knives
      • Field sharpener
      • Game bags
      • Nitrile gloves
      • Paracord
      • Electric tape
      • Sharpie pen
    • Emergency/First Aid Kit
      • Assorted bandages, gauze, and tape
      • Quickclot
      • Alcohol wipes
      • Moleskin
      • Excedrin
      • Imodium
      • Bic lighter
      • Pyro putty
      • Backup headlamp
      • Extra batteries for headlamp and range finder
      • Emergency blanket
      • Small hex key set (I may replace with fix-it sticks)
I think that's it. I'd have to go through my pack to be sure as I usually just leave these things in my bino harness and backpack and then refresh them right before season.
