What 1 gun would you keep?

If practicality were the only issue it would be my Winchester 94 .30-30. Being a sentimental old SOB, in reality it would be my dad's circa 193? Mossberg 20 gauge bolt action.

It's a plain Jane, scarred up, clunky old thing but I'd give up all the others before I ever parted with it. It was the first and only shotgun he ever owned, and the memories stored up in it could never be replaced.

It depends. If it were because of a SHTF situation, I'd take my one of my AR's, but if I were simply presented the option of which guns I could purchase again (i.e. replaceable) given time and opportunity (SHTF situations don't afford either of those) then I would keep my very first gun I ever bought, my side by side double barrel Zabala shotgun. I bought her when I was 16 yrs old and have many fond memories with her. I intend on passing her down to my son when he gets of age.

+1 on ruger security six .one i have was made 1976 .200 year of liberty.older than my daughter .when iam gone she can have it till then it's mine all mine ;)

Well, I would have to say my AK is my all around critter killer 2leg or 4leg, I have killed coyotee's and Deer, with it, But think I would just have to figure out how to hump all my beauties, Never leave comrade or firearm to fall into the hands of the enemy, and Under no circumstances ever embarress my country!

Hard choice but in rifle it would have to be .270win Rem. 7400 and in handgun it would be Glock G33 357sig. Hard to choose just one.

The one I don't have yet - a S&W 586 or 686 no lock with a 4" barrel. I've got K and N frame .357s but no L frames yet.

I would keep my spikes .22lr upper, and my POF lower, it would be the only thing i would be able to afford, reliable, and a repeater. If ammo were there, i would keep the .223 upper.

depends upon if I could CC or not and if black rifles were allowed....if yes on CC then my dan wesson CBOB, good for defence and IU guess in a pinch copuld shoot a deer//hog etc if need be.
If no and black rifles are ok then the AR good for defence and could shoot game with it (rabbits/deer/hogs/turkey)

All else fails then the mossy 500.

So it all depends upon current circumstances.

Garand. It's not the most practical weapon, but it's like the Gutenberg Bible in the 'Day after Tomorrow'.

I'd keep my Glock 27. It's my first gun and it has never let me down at the range, which leads me to believe that it would never let me down, period.

I just did the rather painful exercise in my head (on the computer actually), and first I pared down all my guns to just the "Essentials", as a theoretical exercise. I ended up with TWENTY-TWO "essential" guns, but in reality, I could get this down to NINETEEN true essentials, at least the way I see things. Then I ranked them all from 1 on, first among each catetory (hunting/varminting rifles, hunting/varminting shotguns, self-defense rifles, self-defense shotguns, handguns, and "noob inductors"), and then from 1 to 22 mixing them all together. It's very difficult, but I did it.

The DPMS LR 260L (.260 rem) came out on top, with the Kahr MK9 (9mm) 2nd, the Mossberg 930 SPX (12 ga) 3rd, and the Savage 10ML .50 cal 4th.

This is a tough one. If it was only one gun it would be my Remington 870 Police with 18' barrel, extended magazine and side-saddle. If it was only one hand gun it would be my trusty Ruger P95DC. It has never ever let me down.
