What .44 Magnum is the most fun?

I've been thinking about getting a .44 Magnum just for the fun of it. I have no serious purpose for one, just want one to play around with. What .44 Magnum do you think is the most fun?

There all fun, carbines and Contenders included.
DA (without the O) revolvers with long (≥6") barrels and hail mary target distances are way up there though.

Well it's not a revolver but the most fun I had with handgun in .44 Magnum was with a Desert Eagle.

In a revolver it would have to be a Ruger Super Blackhawk with custom oversized grips on it.

Well it's not a revolver but the most fun I had with handgun in .44 Magnum was with a Desert Eagle.

Them are REAL FUN! Nothing like dumping an 8-round mag of .44s as fast as you can pull the trigger and with a fast reload at that!

For a revolver, I would think something with a longer barrel for more comfortable shooting would be of the most "fun".

I would have to say that the 4" S&W M29 is the most fun. It may not be the most pleasant to shoot, but it is the most fun.

I agree with .22-rimfire. In fact a Mountain Gun would be more fun or if you could find it a 3" Model 29/629. Or.....a Ruger Alaskan.

A Desert Eagle .44 Magnum is the biggest SOB I've ever fired. Needs very big hands to shoot. My trigger finger came nowhere near the trigger. Need about another inch or more of finger. Still laugh about it. Not in any way uncomfortable to shoot though. Actually pretty tame.
Totally agree with stoky though. They're all fun.

44 mag...long barreled single action or medium barrel double action would be fun, but for pure big bore fun I can't think of any better way to waste 44 ammo than a mares leg.

But for true 44 fun, find a cap and ball revolver. Nothing but smoke and smiles.

I would have to say that the 4" S&W M29 is the most fun. It may not be the most pleasant to shoot, but it is the most fun.

The Herrett's Bill Jordan grip made this one more fun than the factory grips.

I have shot way more than my share of .44 mag over the years, out of many different guns. One I really enjoyed a lot, was my S&W .44 Mag Mountain Gun with a 4" Barrel. A flash of lightening and the roar of thunder! Oh Ya!

However, the one I truly enjoyed the most and was the most accurate, was a Ruger Bisley Blackhawk with a 7 1/2" barrel.

I've had Smiths, 4", 6" and 8 3/8".
Best all around for usage, the 6".
Most fun? The 4".
Has the look, easier to ride on the hip (in and out of vehicles).
Not a fan of the Mountain version.

Had Rugers too, all longer bbls (7.5" to 9.5".
SBH, RH, SRH.
They all shot decent, the SRH very very well.

Like the looks and feel of the Smiths better.

Buddies have had 329 PDs, Desert Eagles..........also fun, in different ways.

Still think the 4 or 6" reg 629 the ones to have.

Shot an Automag way back, so long ago I can't remember diddly about it.

Have not shot LAR or Wildey.

Contender? Nope. Like .35 Rem in Super 14........no brake.

I have a 5" S&W 29 with a full underlug and factory Hogue grips that is my favorite.

44mag Birdhead Vaquero 3.75 barrel always goes to the range with me. Punishing recoil with hunting loads but a blast and very accurate with 250gr RNFP and 6.6 grains of Universal

Most fun would be a dueling set of S&W 629s with 3" barrels at dusk. The flames of each shot will light up the night!

With a Freedom Arms built for the .454 Casull and chambered in .44Mag you can get all there is to get from the .44. Lots of fun!

While I agree the large Ruger SA and DA revolvers are good I would go in a slightly different direction with a fun range revolver.

I have shot and like the Magnum Research BFR. It's one of the strongest SA revolvers on the market today. The several I have shot were very accurate.
