I had one on order for over a month, canceled and got the blued one. Wasnt waiting any longer. But would love to have one, beautiful pistol...

Looks like chrome though..

Its been a while I m thinkin bout gettin this one but simple blued..
Really like guns nickel/chrome plated (38/1911s), specially older ones.

I really like how stainless steel looks and wonder if this so-called "white finish" has the beauty of SS and also the corrosion resistance. Taylors sells this for a very reasonable $354.

If it's really "in the white" it's just polished carbon steel and will need very regular oiling to prevent rust. Not sure if "white finish" is the same.

It is nothing more than a highly polished carbon steel pistol. It is not nickel, chrome, or stainless. Some of you folks look for bling. I would much rather go with the blued version. After a few range sessions with the "white" version, you will wish you had the blued version, otherwise just relegate the "white" version as a safe/BBQ queen.

I get a chuckle out of the fact that it is a 4-screw and the recoil shields are cut for a shoulder stock, although no shoulder stock can be fitted to birdshead grips! A modern fantasy gun.

Read the description on the Taylor's website.

Bling?? Maybe you think guns are just tools and looks don't matter, but most of us aren't like that.

Many old revolvers were Nickel plated for reasons more than bling or looks. The old timers said they helped the gun clean easier and provided some protection from the corrosion of black powder when it may be a while before it could be cleaned after firing.

That's a beauty.Too bad it's a 36.

Too bad it's a .36? You have no clue.

If it was a .44 it would have a rebated cylinder and a cut water table. Nothing historical about that.

Yeah, it's a beauty because it is an engraved historical model.

Show us your non-historical Pietta .44 Navy pistols. I will bet they are all cheap brassers.

Pictures please!

You have excellent taste in black powder revolvers my friend! Would make for a great BBQ gun too!

Nice Pedersoli Kentucky flintlock! I'm not too familiar with single shot pistols but isn't the front sight on backwards?

I let that one go. Started bidding early on it then changed my mind and got out bid. It's good to see that they can be had affordably though.
Front sight does look odd.

That's a good deal. Under 5 cents a cap.

Came to $278.33 w/ shipping & hazmat ($5.57 a tin of 100). Figured I'd jump on them now while they are still in stock. My addition to rush on guns.
I have been meaning to buy 5k for a couple 4 or 5 months now. Should keep me shooting for a couple of years.

By the way, didn't mean to hijack your thread. I too like 44 cal C&B revolvers. Have 5 of them...

Nice! Post up some pictures when it arrives.:neener:

Might want to order a Slixhand if you don't have one already.

EMF phoned just before 5:00PM local time. The snubby 1851 I ordered is currently out of stock; the lady at EMF said it would be a few weeks before more arrived. Ahhhhh....the loooooooonnnnng wait begins!

I just shoot a few hundred BP rounds a year and i buy remmy 10s at sportsman's warehouse. They're 5.99 for a hundred and with tax it's 6.4 cents each . Not bad. They also sell speer 454 lead balls at 11 cents each except they never have any!!! The shelf slot for that size is always empty.

Looks good in white, but I'd hate to leave it that way. It'll turn gray soon enough from use. Give me blue (or nickel it).
