I shall list my pistol of choice.

The best DAO of all time is undoubtedly the FN Forty-Nine. The RSS system obviously give the option of restriking a round, but it also ensures that the entire system is at rest until the trigger is pulled. After a short distance, the pistol is cocked, yet maintains its pull weight all the way until the fairly crisp release.
After that, all you have is a 9mm or .40S&W weapon with a longer sight radius than a CZ75B sending a bullet hurtling through the bullseye over and over and over again. Oh, when it wear out, you just send it in, have the slide rails replaced and start anew.

So where does the Glock's Safe Action fall?

I voted for single action because it's what I shoot on the range. The first shot fired in personal defense is most critical and I see no reason to waste it with a long DA pull.

I started on a DA/SA revolver when learning to shoot handguns. For many years my primary experiance with handguns was with SA revolvers. When I bought my 1st handgun I wanted a consistant trigger pull and ended up with a Glock.

I still like a consistant trigger pull. I do like DA/SA guns for their versatility and "second strike" capability. I own SAO and DA/SA but no DAO guns. SA is generally my preference and what I voted but I can and do shoot both SA and DA.

ccw/off duty, single action

On duty double action, with thumb safety

In an ideal world, CZ would offer the P-01/PCR in a Kahr-like light Double Action that provided second strike capability.

But in all honesty, I guess I'm just not good enough to see a world of difference. I grew up with 1911s, have carried them as well as a Glock, a SIG, a Kahr, several CZs... Though like everyone, I have my preferences, I for carry use I just prefer a gun have certain ergonomics, weight, reliability... things like that are more important to me than absolutely how short or light the trigger is.

SA, DAO or Safe Action. While the DA/SA transition can be learned given enough practice, it seems like an unnecessary burden given that there are other action types out there.

I'm a single-action fan myself, but anything that pulls the same each time would be fine.
