the correct answer is, whatever action (or, more precisely, manual of arms) you're most familiar and comfortable with.
Yeah, Pauli...take ALL the fun out of this thread!

Generally, I prefer Sigs, because that's what I trained on, and those instincts are so far ingrained that I'd be more likely to fall back on them when the excrement hits the rotating apparatus. The longer DA pull most likely won't be a concern when the adrenaline's pumping, and the weapon's ready out of the holster.

That said, I love my 1911s, but I only carry them if I've been shooting them recently. Muscular memory and all.

...Then there's the P7. Light, consistent trigger and utterly safe mechanism. Again, I have to take a trip or two to the range with it before carrying it just to make sure I'm adjusted.

I have the most rounds through DA/SA pistols & have gone most acquainted w/ using a decocker & leaving the safety off...that's not to say I am not comfortable w/ my 1911, my P7M8 or even my Glock. But for me, it took a lot of practice w/ each to become comfortable ;)

355, just curious as to whether you own a 1911 in 357sig?

No sold all my 357 sigs, 40's and 10mm's Its just an old call sign everyone knows me by. I will tell you if you intend on building a 1911 in 357 sig you will have some reliability problems related to the mags. I tried to have a 40 highpower converted it never did feed well. IT was converted by CYlinder and Slide. IF you like fast medium bore rounds in a 1911 try the 9x23.
