I prefer Single action cocked and locked carry followed by Glocks Safe action and a distant third a Tradition Double action Single action.

Single action C&L is my preference for most things. But a smooth DA revolver trigger with a pull weight down in the single digits (say 8 pounds) isn't bad either.

Double action/ Single action for me. Single action cocked and locked would be a close second.

SA Cocked & Locked, or Glock safe-action trigger, both for their uniform trigger pull and 5#-ish pull weights. Next preference would be a well-tuned revolver DA trigger.

Single-Action, followed by Glock-style 'Safe Action' (which others have mimicked now). I despise DA/SA, although it's better than nothing.
A DA-only would have to be pretty fantastic to win me over.

Why do you have so many options for the Glock-style action?

END

Because some may prefer an 8 or 12 pound revolver like pull on the Glock. I don't. Sorry about the revolver absence. I had a brain fart and thought I was in the autos section.

I would rate a traditional DA/SA as my least favorite... I'm a 1911 guy through and through, but the more I experience what I consider carry DAs (such as Kahrs, SIGs and Glocks) and other consistant pull trigger guns with no manual safeties, the more I tend to think that for a civilian carrying, they may be the best overall choice.

But I love my crisp 1911 and single action CZ triggers. :p

Wow...I'm surprised to say my answer is DA/SA, not C&L.

Has more to do with the "administrative handling" of my daily CCW routine than actual shooting, though.

Damn 228 has gotten to me again. :D

Well, double-action/single-action is what I seem to shoot the most accurately. I’m sure single-action would be just as good, if not better, but I wouldn’t be comfortable carrying a single-action pistol.

Now, what I would like to see is a “safe-action†Kahr with a short trigger reset. That should be a very accurate, easy-to-carry combination.

Voted don't care because at various times I carry a DAO rev. a DA/SA

auto, a C&L 1911, &/or a Gock with NY trigger (8lbs.). It's not about the

action type so much as about the mission of the gun.

I vote Sprinfield XD as best combat action. I don't own one , but I can rent one at the range and shoot it better that any gun I own. I can shoot 1911's better than anything, but I don't like C&L carry. Right now I carry a Bersa, but what I really want is the XD.
