About a year and a half ago, I was in Sportsman's Warehouse and happened to spy a box of 150 grain Sierra Flat Nose Power Jacket bullets. My brother keeps a .30-30 truck gun and occasionally has me load something for him so I snatched them up for when that day came. Three weeks ago, I was at Cabela's, and they had some Remington .30-30 brass so I grabbed two bags.

Tuesday evening I spoke with Bro on the phone and mentioned I had found some .30-30 brass and he thought loading a couple boxes would be a good idea. Wednesday night I did the brass prep - neck sized, trimmed, chamfered, deburred, uniformed primer pockets and deburred flash holes. The first bag of brass had 51 pieces. That was unusual, but handy as it would become the dummy round for setting up this bullet seating depth and crimp adjustment. :)

Lo! And Behold!! I decided to load all the cases and the Sierra Bullets box had 101 bullets! Perfect match! 101 pieces of brass and 101 bullets for that brass! :what: Now my dummy round is accommodated and I have 5 full 20 round boxes too boot! :D

I wonder if my old buddy, a great practical joker and long since passed away, is messing with me again? Ya' suppose?? :scrutiny:

You did all that case prep for .30/30?

Maybe it's a National Match .30-30 truck gun...

Seriously though, I tend to go a little overboard myself when loading ammo for family members; although I generally make THEM buy the components.

I'm a good guy, but not a great guy... ;)

30-30 truck gun or my .223 Remington, all new brass gets the same treatment before the first loading just the way I do it. No big deal as I see it, YMMV.

You did all that case prep for .30/30?
Yeah.
Force of habit, I guess.
'Course my brother says that Winchester '94-'94 is quite the shooter! Minute of deer at 100 yards all day long! :D :D Don't want to let that go to waste.

And no, I did not stutter. :neener:
