What are we missing out on due to import bans?

There is no ban on importation of Norinco or any other Chinese shotgun. You can still buy the Chinese copy of the Winchester 1897 pump, the lever action, and many coach guns. You can also buy the Chinese Catamount which is a copy of the Saiga shotgun. The H&R Pardner pump is made in China and there is also a Chinese copy of the Ithaca 37.
Those are all shotguns that meet the "sporting purpose" requirements...so the Chinese can still import them here. You don't see current production Chinese AK's and such being imported do you? You could buy a Catamount but to convert it your have to make it 922r compliant to keep it legal.

lxd55: Your comment about imported ammo regarding the various factors (i.e. politicians and their US ammo manufacturer Collaborateurs), inspired me to buy three large cases of Wolf within the last three months. Most of it is for retirement.

Most people have no idea that UN (much is US money) along with Brit/Euro taxpayer funds have been paid to several countries
to destroy huge stockpiles of both ammo and guns. Many of these are Not popular military guns, just obsolete bolt-action rifles:
Enfields (South Africa), Mausers etc.

I only addressed shotguns because the OP said he couldn't buy the Chinese clone of the Winchester 1897 because it was banned. As I explained that isn't true. He can buy one today from Cimarron or EMF. As you can tell from my screen name I am well aware of the situation with Chinese AKs.
