What are your OTHER expensive hobbies besides guns?

MachIV - I REALLY like the Duece and a half. I've always wanted one of those, just because

That's all the justification you need. They're really not that expensive; I paid $5,300 for mine and put another $2,000 into repairs. OF course, I don't know how much the drive from Robins AFB (80 Mi. Sout of Atlanta) to Denver was worth.............

And buying from the gub'mint is a PITA.

Not a lot in life is cheap anymore though

Dang straight! I remember gasoline for $0.19 per gallon when we had our first go-kart.

Five kids.

Oh, and a Jeep. (84 Scrambler Project... T-18, 4.10, 4" Lift, TJ flares, 33", fiberglass body, seats for 6, full roll cage... That's the plan, I'm in the teardown stage right now.)

Most of these guys and gals cost more than most guns. And if something goes wrong, cancer, bloat and so on they will kill the savings for a new gun. On the bright side they are all house dogs, and if someone is stupid enough to break into my house I have plenty of time to pick the gun of my choice for the situation at hand if a gun is even needed at all.

Only 5 other divers so far....

My most expensive hobby besides guns/reloading is definately Scuba Diving. Although that one is at least sort of self supporting since I have become an instructor. I started adding up receipts once, when I hit 10k I started shredding everything I wasn't going to need for taxes.

I've collected knives since I was 11, that gets expensive. On top of being a gun-nut I'm a car-nut (more notably, a speed-nut).

Those are my main money-drainers (and sometimes money-makers ;) )

So yeah:

Guns/Reloading/Shooting
Cars
Knives

Photography, shooting, computer games, shooting, Photography.

And there is shooting too.

a few more things

All this talk of old cars reminds me I like them, too! :)

And one more diver here - since 1972.

The SL is a 1974 (as the plate shows) and just turned 80,000 this summer. It is often a daily driver in the good weather.

Oh, and I have two powerboats, too - a SeaRay sportboat and an aluminum cruiser I plan on restoring this winter.

Hmmmm, well lets see...

A 47' sailboat
Photography
Computers
R/C Helicopters
My DVD collection (400+ and still growing)
Some serious air rifles
...and probably more stuff that I've forgotten I've got.

Knifemaking - what a money pit! It's gotten to where we built a shop for it, bought a mill and all the other equipment - over $30k easy. I lose money on every knife but make it up in volume! :D

Guns and girls, boats and bikes, (Motorcycles)
Dirt bikes at one time and 4X4's more knives than I could wear out in several life times and going places gosh I like to just go. Did I say girls? the ladies have probably cost me more than the rest combined? Especially the one's you marry, but worth every penny.

Stevie-Ray,
Nice trucks. Those are probly the baddest two models of trucks to ever come of Fords assembly lines. I think everyone hated to see the SC engines discontinued. You a member of nloc or nhtoc.net??

Old John Deeres. This one is a 1950 AR which belonged to my grandfather. I restored it in 1992 and it's in need of some touch-up (new paint and decals). I have two others, a 1953 model 40 and a 1966 1020 diesel with a JD 48 loader.

This one has a 321 cubic inch, two cylinder engine, weighs 5600 lbs., and has 36 hp at the drawbar. The picture was taken in October at the homecoming parade before our 40th high school reunion.
