What aspects of shooting do NOT interest you?

I'm pretty much a junkie when it comes to anything printed about firearms. Competition, combat, plinking, it's all interesting to me.

I don't however, care much for shotguns (beyond the shotguns I have to work with on my job) since I haven't hunted with a shotgun since I was a kid.

Rifle calibers under .30 don't interest me much either. Black powder/muzzle-loading too.

I'm not interested in the snobbery. Plastic vs Stainless, AR vs whatever, Tactical vs meh...... Everyones got their likes same as me. I just skip those threads

Shotguns, rifles, handguns, scopes, and gear with the word "tactical" in front of them.
NFA stuff
Political stuff
Scope reticles
Reinventing the wheel (though I guess I would have to read the article to find out it is about this)

For some reason I've never been much interested in shotguns. I've got a few, but almost never shoot them and don't generally read about them or research them.

I like most everything to do with guns, and eventually will read at least part of all or most all of the articles. Even shotguns.

Whiz-bang super-modern muzzleloaders. Remington 700 ML? :barf:
formal professional competition... boring. Friendly competition..
Tree stand hunting.

I'm in agreement with the OP totally. The only thing else I won't read is how accurate a c/c gun is at 10 feet. It's seems the fad now is to actually measure and report group sizes at ridiculously close distances, which is no test at all of how a pistol or revolver is. One has to do significant research to find out how well a fighting gun shoots.

Muzzle brakes, especially when they are attached to a gun that is only a few feet off to your side, doubly bad if it's a 50 cal in an enclosed shooting line. If it's an 120mm Abrams main gun I'll give you some slack provided I get a heads up before it lights up.

The problem with tree-stand hunting is that, like turkeys and pheasants, it's illegal to shoot a tree stand while it's roosting in a tree. It's very difficult to catch them on the ground and when you do, they're usually accompanied by another hunter who wants defend it instead of hunt it. It's almost impossible to catch one in the air and shoot it on the wing. If you do catch one in the air and it has one of the stupid defenders with it, it probably won't be suitable to eat when it hits the ground.

Matt.

Writers who post reviews and never, never, never seem to find one stinker out of all the firearms they have reviewed/shot.

Skip anything to do with hunting or the rifles and shotguns and scopes used in hunting. Zero interest in hunting, period.

Anything else like ammo, pistols, MSR's, milsurps are all fair game.

Cowboy shooting.
Didn't take long to figure out that it's more about costumes than about shooting.

Guns and Ammo magazine. It ceased to be interesting about 20 years ago. It's the
same-ol'-same-ol' "top 100 30-06 loads" sorta stuff.

The American Rifleman isn't far behind. Doubt if I read more than 1 out of 5 issues.
I wouldn't buy it off of the magazine rack.

Full auto - wasteful, inaccurate, and almost always overrated.

Glocks
Black powder anything
Video games
Glocks
Self-defense CD’s and class promos
Berettas
AK & AR based pistols
Competition results
Anything painted in camo (Other than Sports Illustrated models)
Oh yeah, did I mention Glocks :)

eventually it all gets read on the throne..

even though my interests dont align, I will read it.

I'm a history buff so I like the historical background articles in Am. Rifleman. There's plenty not to like so I'll go with Twiki357s list except Glocks. I don't own any but shoot one now and then (G22, 17, 30sf). My handguns both have stainless slides on polymer frames and both shoot .45acp. Ruger and Kahr. I don't hunt but could if motivated (when Sam's runs out of sirloins). I can't find ammo for my Beretta Neos so I don't like that, either.

Not all that interested in collecting antique firearms, although I do like reading about the history of firearms.

Not interested in any type of black powder. I've shot them and can't stand all the powder / grease goo you get all over yourself + having to clean them.

Cheaply made guns...(I'm not talking about inexpensive) - cheap, low quality. I'm talking something like a Bryco / Jimenez / Jennings...just don't want to own cheaply made guns.

That's about it - I'm all in for everything else. Wildcat rounds, plastic guns, AR's, single shot rifles, bolt action rifles, DA revolvers, SA revolvers, 1911's, shotguns, etc. - own and shoot all of them.
