Mag lengt is 2.80 and 6mm rem coal max is 2.825 so we are right in the ballpark. If you find a barrel maker that can do one please pm me the details!

I put some 100 gr factory core lokt rounds in an ar 10 mag. Looks like they fit fine and would feed

That's why u need to go 6 creedmoor over a .243, almost the same speed with the creedmoor being the more effeciant round by case design. Also was made to offer a better 6mm round for the AR platform

dvdcrr,

if 6mm Rem does interest you check out harrisbarrelworks.com I talked to them recently about my next project and wait times aren't too long. In looking at balistic charts, the 6mm Rem has a bit more 'umph' than the .243. I'm starting to get interested in this round...

Just did a .260 Rem (start of the post), 6.5 Grendell is an AR-15 platform. I like the way you think though, hense the latest .260

To 'rcmodel',

In a SHTF senario, however unlikely, our founding fathers would probably have intended that you muster up the fortitude to handle that extra 3# of rifle & show up with something that could 'bark'... Regardless, in my book, you are a patriet if all you bring to the table is a slingshot and a desire to preserve our Constitution and way of life, as it was originally intended. With all due respect, & thanks! E

Thanks 'meanmrmustard'!

I thought long and hard about going with the .260 vs. the Creedmoor. Brass was the primary issue but I really do like that 6.5mm, BC bullet and having x 2 might be practical. I guess that I would just have to have some specifically, dedicated brass if I went with the creedmoor. I don't think that you could re-work .308,7/08,.243 like you can with the .260. Staying away from the 30 cal. is an advantage these days in supply / cost.

Also, the BC of those longer 140gr 6.5 bullets are stepping on the toes of heavier .30 bullets. Better for the shoulder AND long range.

As a shooter of .260 and 6.5 Swede, I've learned the benefits of low recoil and better ballistics that the mid 6s have to offer early on.

I'd stick to a chambering in that area myself.

22-250. High speed, no recoil. You already have 308 and 260, why not something fast and flat

Good point 'TBH',

I'll have to look into how my 'hot' .223 rounds stack up w/ the .22-250. I've got a couple of bull barrel .223 in 22" & 24" & they have to be used for something from time to time...
