The same safe as you but only $69.99 at Dick's sporting goods, + tax. Also a del-ton 16" mid-length upper and parts kit, saved $75. After that I also got an empty wallet...
I wouldn't have gone shopping at all but my wife had a dentist appointment down the street from DSG. I've been eyeballing their Field and Stream 32 gun safe for a couple of months, it's usually on sale for 650. On Friday it was 550. It was quite a chore getting it into my basement. I bought it to replace a similar 8 gun cabinet as the OPs but from Homak with 2 cylindrical locks. No more room in it, I found that I have multiple guns lying around the house at any given time so it was time to upgrade.
Flannel shirts at Sears-$15 instead of $35
There was a few more people in the store than usual.
Usually so quiet--I don't know how they stay in business.
There is really no gun equipment that I need.
Buying weapons for over 60 years---reloading equipment for 40 years---I am stocked
up good for this winter reloading.
Only thing I bought was McDonald's breakfast on the way to the lake. Went fishing with two of my brothers-in-law, then relaxed the rest of the day with the wife.
Took advantage of Midway's week of deals online and picked up a number of misc shooting related items I've been needing. BX25 mags, shooting mat, scope mounting gear, and a Tipton gun vise. Not as exciting as a new gun but needed to make best use of the existing ones.
Well, I actually filled out the paperwork Friday, but knowing I'd be "delayed," I just told them I'd come back in a few days and pick it up. Got it yesterday.
Smith & Wesson Model 21-4, 44 Special, "Thunder Ranch" model.
To those of you who bought firearms - were they actually on sale due to it being Black Friday?
I checked with a few stores (was in Walmart Thursday night, walked through Cabela's Friday afternoon, and called Sportsman's Warehouse) and none of them had firearms on sale.
Firearm accessories, of course. But no sales on actual firearms.
I got me a gigantic open-faced turkey sandwich with heaps of homemade mashed taters and giblet gravy. Made in America by Americans. Wasn't about to join the sheeple's stampeding for those $2.84 waffle irons at Walmart...heck, I wouldn't let anyone PLUG IN a $2.84 waffle iron in MY house...
