What was the best gun deal you got?

I found a Security Six unfixed with box and all paperwork from 1976 in a pawn shop. For cheap.
Winchester Super X1 with IC barrel

Found more but those are my 2 best 2023 scores.

Oh wait....Beretta AL390 silver mallard for $500.

S&W 1917 for under $600 because half of the bluing was gone from the barrel (apparently from bloody fingers?!) but was otherwise in excellent condition. A careful cold bluing regimen restored the appearance of the barrel and I eventually figured out the simple fix to address a malfunction issue.
It’s now my favorite handgun. IMG_1977.jpeg

Best "deal" was probably a minty '76 Ruger Mark 1, but I scored a few others this year including a well-used Mark 2, a clean nickel 5" Detroit Police M10, a restorable Remington 510 Scoremaster, .308 Ishapore Enfield, 16 Gauge Beretta, .223 Henry single, and a couple pristine old Colt revolvers courtesy of Jeff Olson.

Security Six unfixed??? Did you mean unfired?
Congrats on finding a great Security Six anyway. Security Sixes were (are) my favorite 357s.

This BSW ( A Simson when they changed their name during Nazi control; they were Jewish) cape gun and SXS shotgun in 16ga and 8X57IR with a 2.5-8 scope in claw mounts and 16X16. I blundered onto it for about 60% of it's actual value, got it from a dealer in these guns. I couldn't afford it, but I sold the wife's wedding rings and let the dogs starve. ;)

I also got a Mossberg Patriot 243 with KUIU VIAS camo NIB for $345.00. I put a ten year new/old stock cheap Bushnell 3-9 I had sitting around on top of it, and it shoots cloverleafs with my 100gr handloads.

I bought waaay more guns than I probably should have last year.

My 'new' SIG Pistole 49 (P210), Colt Detective Special, Mannlicher–Schönauer 1903 carbine, Swedish m/38 Short rifle and Persian CZ M29 Mauser were all from my mental grail gun list.

I acquired quite a few other guns this year on top of these, enough to rate a new safe.

I suppose the best deal I got was on a 32-20 S&W Hand Ejector. After the non-trivial CA taxes, new Pachmayrs, and Cerakoting I'm still well under $600 into it, and after purchasing it I was generously gifted a supply of brass (thanks Tark!) and a set of loading dies (local friend).

I bought a few guns last year, more than I'd intended to. A Henry 22 mag, Ruger Predator 308, and a Winchester Model 12 with aftermarket trap wood and Cutts adjustable choke to name the front-runners. But the best "deal" was the last one of the year, and my wife made it. Last Saturday, we went to an antique/junk store we like to pick up a couple things for the farm. He had for (private) sale a Marlin 60 stainless carbine and a Remington 788 in 6mm Remington, topped with a period-correct 4x Japanese scope. I hadn't aimed to ask about them, but Mrs. Mac told me that if I liked one of them and they weren't too much, she'd make me a gift of one. So I enquired, and when the man said $400 for the pair, she stepped up and wrote a check for them! I wound up passing on part of my good fortune to a friend, and gave him the Marlin since he was sort of "down on his luck" and without a 22. Just waiting on brass and dies to show up to shoot the Remington, I have hopes it'll be a crackerjack of a rifle!

I saw a Ruger DAO Service Six 38spl I recognized as a NYCPD special contract model not advertised as such on GB. With an hour left the high bid was $298 so I bid $305 and won it. Got it lettered by Ruger confirming it shipped to NYCPD in July 1987. A little carry wear but hadn't been shot much and I swapped the spurless DAO hammer for a DA/SA. EDIT: Almost forgot about the snubs. Pre Model 10 (1950) and Peruvian FBI contract S&W Model 10-7.

2023 had its ups and downs for me,
one of the ups for 2023 was definitely in my firearms acquisitions,
That 99%+ Remington Rand in box,
a few nice pre-64 Winchester 94's
a Colt 1903 in decent shape,
and a few other things that will give me something to do the rest of the winter.

Not much, actually.
Just a Ruger American Ranch in 5.56 and an old Savage/Stevens .22 rifle.
Fairly light year for buying stuff in 2023.

I feel pretty good about both acquisitions. I guess the old Savage is the better deal, technically (@ $99 + tax).
