I returned to the range after a 4 month layoff due to significant health issues. I just wanted to knock the rust off , did not have very high expectations.
I chose to shoot my good old Beretta 92 ; it usually treats me pretty well. Arms were kinda shaky , range was 30 ft. Shot 2 15 round mags. Earlier shots were left , with a few semi-fliers. Before shooting the second mag I asked myself "What would Burt tell me right now?" Burt was the head instructor at our club , wonderful man , no longer with us. Huge loss to our outfit. The message I got from Burt was that I was jerking the trigger just a bit ... I should apply gentle pressure and be almost surprised when discharge occurred.
It worked. I started hitting the center of the paper plate , put a few through the same hole towards the end.
Great to be back. Thanks Burt!
