Hi...
Had a good day at the gun club today. Hadn't been doing much shooting because of wet cold windy weather, other obligations and attempting to conserve reloading components.
Tried to rectify that today.
I started off with the .357Mag revolvers...20 rounds each through both of my Colt Troopers, my three screw BlackHawk, my son's Taylor's SAA clone and his S&W 66 and my S&W 27. Plus another ten rounds through my son's Uberti lever action carbine.
After that, I switched over to .44Spl revolvers and shot 20 rounds each through both of my flat top BlackHawks, my Uberti SAA clone and my Taurus stainless adj. sighted DA revolver.
Next up were the .45Colt revolvers. Again...another 20 rounds each through both of my original full size Vaqueros, my S&W Model 25, my Uberti nickle SAA clone, my Uberti Schofield clone and my Uberti Remington 1875 clone and my Ruger BlackHawk.
Also shot a magazine of rounds through my son's Para Ordnance 1911 .45ACP.
I never got around to shooting my Uberti .45Colt lever action rifle or my Marlin .44Magnum lever action. Didn't get around to shooting any of my .41Magnum or .44Magnum revolvers today. Next time for sure.
Despite not having done much shooting lately, I shoot pretty well. 25yd steel plates were easy to hit SA and DA and even the speed drills with my DA revolvers at 7 and 15 yards were very good...I did have a couple of misses because of rushing my shots now and then.
I did spend quite a few rounds turning big rocks into little rocks on the 25yd berm after doing the serious shooting on the steel plates.
My son shot quite a few rounds testing some hand loads in his .45ACP Para Ordnance.
He also shot a good many 9mm rounds...I wasn't paying attention to which handgun he was using. He did shoot a large number of rounds in .357Mag, .41Mag and .44Mag revolvers and through all three of the lever actions.
All in all, a very enjoyable morning at the gun club and a satisfying start to the shooting season.
