I started buying ammo last summer, then added components (brass, bullets, primers) starting in September. I already had plenty of mags for the pistols and rifles. If I was to spend another $1k it would probably be on a combination of ammo and components. But I think I have plenty for the next 4 years.

The first thing I did was pay a few bills...

The second thing was a 7.62x39 Saiga, as well as the parts I needed for the conversion. I figure imports will be the first to go.

I voted for mags and ammo. Those are very likely to be attacked in coming years. You already have guns, and those guns will last for a very long time... mags and ammo however are a limited resource, and no gun is worth much as a tool without them.

I would get a decent stockpile of ammo and mags going, then grab some common replacement parts for the guns you already have.

-Another gun with "evil" features (specifically threaded barrels)
-Magazines
-A suppressor

The other things can wait because they will be around longer, and I want to have these things.

Personally I would buy magazines. If I already have a few guns they should last if properly cared for. The ammo will run out quick and I reload anyway. The magazines will go before the gun and can't be replenished with a ban.

If their able to ban "military ammo" altogether and not just importation of the cheap stuff then I figure they also got those stipulations like eroding primers and quantity limits in which case were screwed no matter what. If not I can reload for 7.62x39 which is preferable anyway. It gives me better accuracy from my guns in these calibers.

I have to vote for ammo and components. I would buy 10 bricks of 22 ammo and spend the balance on components. I have enough guns for the whole family, including one pink one

Honestly, all are good ideas depending on what you want. I am in the process of getting my C&R license so I am going to wait on ammo for the discounts, however investing in a new pistol or rifle is top on my list right now. So I am going to build meself an AR in 6.8 spc for the hell of it. You can't go wrong with mags, ammo, or AR's and high cap pistols.

first a new upper for my LBC .204 ar only one in 5.56 so I could actuly find ammo. Then blow the rest on components and a ski mask.

Since we don't know what Sam Adams wants to do, it's kinda pointless to answer.

You don't need me or my preferences. This is a case of someone gives you 10 Franklins and says "spend it on something related to guns or you have to give it back."

upgrading my NRA membership and donating the rest to the NRA or other pro-gun groups. All this buying up ammo, mags and guns doesn't do anyone good if anti gun politicians keep getting elected. And for those that don't reload, what's the point of buying 3 ARs or few AKs when ammo is so friggin expensive.

"....Granted if the SHTF, there is the possibility of picking up weapons and ammo from the battlefield, or hijacking supply trucks, I'm not sure I have enough to get to that point yet...."

umm, ok, take the Red Dawn DVD out of the DVD player and put it back on the shelf....

First? The gun. Second? Magazines. Third? Ammo. Forth? The rest of the accessories. But that's just my take on things.

Ammo.

I've got more guns than Wifey and I can carry so more ammo seems reasonable. Its for the children...don't 'cha know. After all, I've got two sons and a grandson.

Mark.

I voted for Powder and Pirmers, no boom with out the burn.

If the S___ ever hits the fan you should be able to find used brass, the projectiles you can mold if it comes down to it, or just take them out of the zombies you kill :D.

If you can afford it just go with the ammo but if you are limited on cash then you should stock up on powder and primers. More bang for your buck, pun intended.

"umm, ok, take the Red Dawn DVD out of the DVD player and put it back on the shelf...."

Used in a few movies or not, this is a proven tactic. If the SHTF, it will no doubt be an all out guerrilla warfare type scenario. Also, I did say "possibility".

$1,000 would make a down payment on the Les Baer I've got my eye on :)

Actually, I've bought a Kimber UC II .45, a S&W 60 .357, and a Ruger LCP since November, and close to 2000 rounds of ammo for them.

I was very respectably armed long before the election.

Since the election I've purchased an AR-15, a 12 guage shotgun, a Mosin Nagant (it was in beautiful shape, so I had to), a Walther P22 with threaded barrel adapter and an SWR Warlock .22lr suppressor.

I'm thinking about building another AR15, maybe an AR15 pistol, and suppressing it.
