what do you carry your shotgunshells in? This question is mainly for "tactical" or military sitautions,as when Im hunting I typically carry them in my pockets.

I have carried shotgun ammo in a leather shellbelt. Also in an old M9A1 gas mask bag ,M14 pouches and the nylon shotgun pouch that hold 12 shells. I have never used the shell bandoleers as they look cumbersome and also look like you could loose rounds.

what do you use? what works best for you?

Thanks

I use a SAW pouch with the elastic closure at the top. It will hold 50 rounds easily, and if running around, the shells will not bounce out. I also have 2-12 round snap cover shell pouches that hold the shells inside with elastic loop. I can attach either quickly to my belt, and both are large capicity enough to last a little while in a tac match. My M1Super90 is hungry!

I use my dad's old hunting shell vest. It looks similar to a canvas fishing vest and has 25 shell loops on the front and a couple of pockets for more. I don't really notice the weight when wearing it. I have two of them.

When I used to dove hunt I used a belt with elastic topped pouches, not unlike the SAW pouch mentioned above. Just grab and go, nothing fancy and it works everytime.

I got an Active Shooters Bag from Eagle. It is a shoulder bag with two pockets. That way I can have one for buck and one for slug. It will hold 60 2.75" shells but I only load to 50 because that should be enough and there is no sense in risking dumping rounds on the ground. I did consider the upland vest but the ASB was a better choice for me.

SAW pouch or the extra large gear pouches from Spec-Ops.
Spec-Op pouch holds twenty five shells and the SAW pouch will easily hold fifty.
A piece of cloth shoved down into the pouch and the shells dumped in so the cloth envelopes them keeps everything quiet.

For bird hunting they go in my vest.

For 3-gun stuff, like Chris I use speed strippers (both choate and PM&T) and load weak handed.

The door kickers I ran into over in the desert kept ammo in a dump pouch of sorts and also on the side of the reciever. You dont see many shotguns at all over there. There being Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa. Door kickers and security details from what I saw.

Bandolier, shotshell holder on the opposite side of the bolt, and stock shotshell holder. That, and a vest, and you're ready for offensive combat. This is assuming that you're using a tubular magazine shotgun, otherwise just carry a bunch of mags.

A 25 round shell belt's here with two Nam style 12 round pouches on it. 00 on the belt, slugs in the pouches. It's heavy....

Buttstock cuff that holds 5 but I wear it on my strongside forearm.Slugs in the cuff,6 TAP in the tube. If I need more the 50 round belt comes with.
