what I do

Now, I homeschool 2 sons (one graduated 2 years ago & is at a local technical college) AND
I am the bookkeeper and answer the phone for my husband's small business.

I have a Master's degree in Education and was a public school teacher in my former life!

Public Defender. I talk to really unhappy people all day long. Just got back from almost getting in a fight with two of them at the jail. :fire:

Now I'll sit back and wait for the insults!;)

Former computer anaylst and manufacturing manager
turned home school dad / gun nut

Production Assistant/CG operator for the locally owned (read that 'small') ABC network affiliate. I make those graphics you see over the newscaster's shoulder as well as making sure that you know the name of the person who's talking.

Full time student: Management Major, Double minors in Finance and Econ.

I'm a social worker in this incarnation (loyal state employee for 21 years :p ). I was a counselor in a juvenile detention center for 6 years, then a child abuse investigator for 9 years before a serious injury to my right leg resulted in 2 surgeries, a total of 14 days hospital time, and 15 months in a wheelchair or on crutches.
A leg held together with 5 steel plates, 7 screws, 6 staples, and bone grafted from my hip took me out of field investigation and put me behind a desk. I didn't like it much but one adapts, I guess. I'm luckier than most, I imagine.

Besides, one should never complain out loud. Half of those that hear you don't care and the other half are glad something bad is happening to you. :D Present company excepted, I hope.

Clif

Network Administrator/Webmiester for a small manufacturing company.

before that, TV broadcast engineer

I work as a Respiratory Therapist in the ER, ICU, and PICU at a few local hospitals. I manage ventilators (ie life support), treat asthmatics and lungers, and perform BLS/basic life support and ACLS/advanced cardiac life support, and measure lung flows and volumes, draw and analyze arterial blood gases, and I perform tons of other monotonous crap in return for wages.

Anybody out there need a guy to just blow sh*t up? I work for cheap.:D

IT... looking to change fields to something less demanding... I think I'd like to be a lot attendant at a BMW dealership. Or work in the kitchen of a nice posh restaurant that pays decent money. Something like that.
