I owned a 270 once, for about 18 hours. Bought it off a guy on a Friday afternoon who needed money in a bad way and sold it at a $200 profit on Saturday morning at a gunshow.

You will never, ever hear me say anything bad about a 270 though. Great round, but it doesn't offer me enough of an advantage over what I already own to justify another cartridge to keep up with. But if I did own one I'd be well armed.

Got a Rem 700 stainless a couple of years back. Mainly 'cause it was the best deal I found, looking for a ss rifle to drag around rainy, western WA. After a fair bit of target practice , and 2 deer, don't think I'll ever let it go! Maybe to my son sometime in the distant future. That little .277 pill strikes like lightning!

My favoite caliber for deer. Have it in Rem Mod 721, Mod 700 BDL, Mod 70, Mod 70 Super Grade, Ruger 77 Ultra Lite, and Sav w/accu-triger.

BAR Woo Hoo! Inherited this beauty from my FIL. My oldest already has his sights on it: I told him, not till I'm through with it!

Weatherby vgx delux.... sweet shooter... keeps under 1 1/2 inches at 100 with standard blue box.

Love...love...love this caliber. It is my go to for deer in 140 grn

Brno ZKK 600, brought it home from Germany in 1985.

I too have a Brno ZKK-600 DeLUXe in .270....LOVE that rifle! While I wouldn't have a feeling comfortable going after an elk or bear with it, I prefer my .300 Win Mag for such.

I have an FN made Model 70 Extreme Weather in 270 Winchester, topped off with a Zeiss Conquest.

Husqvarna (commercial mauser) made in the 60's, just replaced the old Lyman scope with a new Leupold VX-II.

I have a '57 Model 70 Super Grade (dad's) and a '64 Model 70 standard (granddad's). I've handloaded a lot for both and it's hard to see any difference looking at targets or dead deer and hogs.

The .270 Win has a real special place in my heart, because it hits harder than Tonya Harding. Alas I drift. I own, have owned various .270 Wins:

Encore rifle
Encore pistol
Sako Finnbear
Weatherby Vanguard
Weatherby Mark V (9-lug)

And this parting jab for Art Eatman--the .270 Win is what the .30-06 Sprg aspires to be when it grows-up. :D

Browning Stainless Stalker, left hand. A tack driver. Was a .30cal guy but with the new bullets that hold together, became a .270 lover. .30cal S.D.,s with 30 grn.lighter bullets and corresponding lighter recoil.

Has anyone tried the 85grn.Barnes X for deer or antelope? My manual shows 39oo+FPS possible and the charts show a 300yd. zero would be good to 350yds.with a center chest hold.

The 270 has the rare combination of mild recoil and absolute devastation on Whitetail Deer size game. My 700ADL Synthetic Stock, old school Redfield Widefield 2X7 using Weaver lightweight mounts and rings. The first deer I shot using Federal Premium 130 grain Sierra Gameking Boattail bullets flipped upside down and quivered for the few seconds it took to succumb. The heart was ripped to shreds. I bought all I could afford and hunt with it every year. I average 4 rounds per year. Three rounds to confirm zero and one to kill a deer. My confidence with that rifle in hand is absolute.

Browning A-Bolt Hunter wood stock. Sub MOA with factory ammuntion and reloads. And the perfect large Canadian Whitetail deer gun. My Dad and two brothers would kill me if I sold it to anyone but them!

This is the only picture That I have of my browning euro-bolt in 270. But don't ever think it's too small for elk, bear......

My new deer gun this year is my S&W M&P 15 with a Stag 6.8 SPC II upper. It is light, short and scary accurate out to 300 yards. For anything longer I have my .308

No Ruger M77 MKII Canoe Paddles yet??

I love this gun and this caliber, will never ever be sold in my lifetime

If it wasn't for the scope, I would think you stole my rifle. Mine looks identical, down to the sling. With the Timney trigger installed, it is a great rifle to shoot and puts my 130 gr handloads into nice tight little groups.
