@Paul R Zartman, good job on evicting the marsupial. Hope she gathered all her baggage.
@27hand, pays to be picky; nice trade. Unique non-typical buck! I've only ever seen one with double main beam and that was at some distance on a foggy morning. Hunted the area regularly hoping for a better picture, but never saw it again.
@Armored farmer, very nice frontstuffer and congratulations on the jake with it.
I hunted every dove season with mine, which was a high school graduation gift from my part time boss and my gunsmith friend & mentor, who "helped" me restore the old gun which, as best as we could determine, according to proof marks was about 100 years old in 1954. Actually, I helped him other than scrubbing ant nests out of barrels, restoring the stock and a few other "unskilled" tasks such as making a replacement for the missing ram rod, & turning new nipples on the lathe, but sure was a great learning experience. Proofed it by tying to an old tire and tripping triggers with long string on a full 12 ga. fired 2 3/4" of ffg behind a double charge of shot in each barrel. Seemed like a lifetime before smoke cleared enough to see if it survived ea. shot.
Regards,
hps
