What do you put on that rail?

.45 in the 1950's

Makes me think of the Hubley or Webley Marine .45 colt that I had in the 50's.
Cap pistol you rack the slide back and the cap spool holder popped up out of the ejection port. The mil similar leather holster had a big marine globe and anchor on it and it had plastic amber colored grips. Now that was a pistol!
It was out of metal too.

Mattel (?) Tommy Gun with the horizontal front handgrip, "Cutts" compensator, no stock, and a DRUM magazine! The drum had a big, round piece of sheet metal in it that the teeth on the cocking handle extension caused to vibrate, making that "machinegun" sound. You could fire singles or short bursts if you practiced good trigger control. It was all black, as I recall. There was also a "Grease gun" with a wire stock that held a roll of caps in the magazine. You could fire single shots by pulling the trigger, or turn the crank on the right side of the receiver to fire "full auto."

Neither of them had rails, though.
