This is mainly a coyote gun (In a heavily forested area), a SHTF gun, and a plinker.

I just turned 18, and so I want to get as many guns as I can before laws change, especially with semi-autos.

Here is what I am planning on for an overall build, let me know what you think :D

Mega Gator Lower: http://www.megamachineshop.com/armscatalog/007FORGEDLOWER-M0200/loader.html

DPMS LOWER PARTS KIT

Tapco T6 Commercial Assembly (Probably going to swap out for MOE in future)

The DPMS Upper as I stated earlier

Quad-rail gas block:

And a 1.5-4, or 2-7 power scope, something small and simple.

And back up sights:

And the rear sight will be a Magpul one, no Magpul front because it has to be mounted on quad rail gas block.

What do you guys think overall?

What do you guys think of DPMS in general for my needs? I am not fighting a war!

Don't let the hysteria of pending gun control laws prompt impulse purchasing. There aren't going to be any new laws coming on a federal level. Your state may be different though, but I'm sure if you're allowed an AR now, that won't change.

And welcome to THR.

That rifle should be fine for coyotes. For defense though, many guys would prefer another manufacturer. It will be a wonderful plinker though.

Del-Ton

Check out Del-Ton. My 20" M4 is one of the most accurate rifles I have ever owned. I have about $700 into it and it is sweet.

For your first AR skip the lower quality rifles like DPMS or Del Ton. Look at a DD, BCM, heck even a spikes or S&W.
