Got 20 working guns, 8 more in restore/repair. Pictures of only 14:
No pictures available of the following:
Traditions Lightning rifle in .50 cal (my only inline muzzleloader)
Pietta 1860 Colt Army in .44 cal
Pietta 1851 Colt Navy in .36 cal
Euroarms Rogers & Spencer in .44 cal (unfinished kit)
Navy Arms double barrel shotgun in 12 ga.
CVA double barrel shotgun in 12 ga
Man, that was hard work.
And yes, I do shoot all of them throughout the year. Some more than others, of course. The Dragoons get the nod for most used, with the Rogers & Spencer (I have 2, one finished and one unfinished kit) next.
Man look at this place come alive! You all have some fine looking rifles and pistols. I am seeing alot of guns that I want on here. Thanks alot everyone, love to see more.
Here are my two Original Remington New Model Armies
Top one is an armory Conversion to 44 Remington/Colt C.F. It has all the sub iinspector markings. Plus it is Conversion # 85 whatever that means. Cartouche is gone.
This is a Gunsmith Conversion that I now use a R & D 44 Remington/Colt 44 C.F. Conversion cylinder in. Nice Cartouche on the left Grip and has Ainsworth Sub inspector markings.
This is an original 1863 Starr Conversion, first Converted to 46 Cal. R.F. then 44 C.F.
As soon as I do some repairs I'll shoot it as well. It too has Sub inspector markings and Cartouches on the grips.
Also I shoot an original 1873 Winchester in 44-40 and an Original Remington model 1889 12 Ga. SXS that I shortened into a Coach Gun.
All with BP. Not ML I know but the Remmy's and the Starr started out that way. I also have 2 1851 Navy's (Pietta) consecutive S/N coming this week.
A question for Gary or anybody else.
Does the Sub inspector marks mean it was an Issued piece or just purchased by the Government. I have always heard that if it had sub inspector marks on it that it was issued. ???
