Anyone have or had any experiences with a Kahr PM9 (with the hard diamond coating) (or another model Kahr) and the Fist #1 Kydex holster or a Kydex holster in general?

I spoke with Gunnersalley and mentioned that the Fist #1 IWB might be the fit for the PM9 and one of the owners said that I should take a serious look at the Kydex rather than the leather for a super thin IWB package with the Kahr.

Being that I don't have any experience with Kydex, I'm thinking that the thin Kydex with clip might work well with the thin and coated PM9.

Thoughts, recommendations?

I tried the FIST Kydex for my T9 and exchanged it. Gunnersalley was very helpful. I would buy Kydex or any IWB from someone else. I love my FIST leather OWB for winter carry, but their IWB design for any gun with real weight to it is bogus. The belt clip has retention during the draw but not when at rest. It has a hook which catches on you belt but on the under side. If your belt isn't firmly tight in all postures, the holster just does not work, and you'll be fussin' with it constantly. A heavier gun or loose pants will cause the holster to sink until there is no real retention. That design also pretty much dictates what size belt you use. The holster is butt ugly anyway. The leather is a work of art as well as functonal.

The Milt Sparks Watch Six is one of the thinnest leather holsters available.
Also, that holster is usually mentioned as one of the most comfortable.
I've never tried Kydex, but I can't imagine it being as comfortable as leather.

I have a two VM-2's and would go to the Watch Six if I want leather. I'm looking for a clip on holster that goes on and off easily and quickly and that I could wear with shorts without a belt, if I want to.

I was looking for an Alessi Talon and have checked but none are available in Cordovan. I might try their black, we'll see. Then the mention of Kydex came my way and I wanted to check with the board for some personal and first hand recommendations.

Ditto NIGHT GUY, Threat Solutions is THE best IWB holster, bar none. Like most old gun nuts, I too have a box of holsters. Threat Solutions kydex holster was what I had been looking for for years. Take a look at www.threatsolutions.com his product is five star. What is unusual is that he guarentees comfort or you can return it for a full refund no questions asked. Check it out.

Take a look at the C-T.A.C. by Comp-Tac.
C-T.A.C.

I really like the slider I bought for my 1911s so bought one for my PM9 too.
its leather "wings" for the clip attachments are more flexible/comfortable for me than the other more rigid one piece kydex holsters.

Great company, if they don't have one already made up, they mold one as soon as you place the order and its in your hands in about a week.
