Let's face it, the things that makes Norinco appealing are low cost and, in many cases, good quality. What makes Nornico unappealing are communist ownership and quasi-slave labor.

Will they be able to do one without the other?

Mike

what would be the practicality of having Norinco-China made parts put on norinco USA made receivers. aside from the 922 parts, and i imagine a barrel, this could start brining non WASR rifles down to WASR/homebuild prices

Can anyone say QBZ97???????:evil::evil::evil:

+1 on the QBZ-97, evil monkey! That is the QBZ-95 chambered for the 5.56 NATO and use standard AR mags right?

I understand the morality issue, but there are so many Chinese products we use it is pretty naive to ban Norinco yet buy billions in food, clothing, and electronics from China.

Ironically, the more we trade with China the better chance they have of making more reforms. Only the creation of a large middle class in China will create political change, yet they will never have a U.S. style democracy there.

In the mean time, if this pans out, I am certainly going to try to get some drums, mags, and rifles. :)

nicely said buck00

evil monkey. where did you get those awesome looking rifles? Where those imported before the ban?

I wouldn't bite on their rifles. For years, China has been making some of these weapons without license. I don't like it when manufacturers in foreign countries copy American technologies without giving us our dues.

In fact, a lot of what China makes is a copy of Western technology.

I would like to see the price of M14's drop. Of course a new administration (Her Royal Hillary Rodham?) will be coming in 2009, it will be real risky for any gun manufacturer or importer to due doing anything.

I met a fellow shooter at Camp Perry, he was going to import new, Chinese made pre 64 M70's. And then came President Clinton V1.0 with his executive orders. This guy lost about $250,000.

Risky, risky, risky.

Sounds good to me! My first 1911 is a $275 Norinco that was made better than a lot of the US stuff.

I wonder sometimes if the Clinton ban was pushed by US gun manufacturers. Probably didn't fight it very hard anyway. :neener:

yes how dare they copy shotguns whos patent expired 100 years ago! the NERVE! and i mean, im in america, i demand a cut of thier profits from selling our M14!

common. nationalism is fine, but not when you don't think. what rifles? what dues? im not following.

I don't own them(I wish I did). I just found them on the internet. However, the Canadians have gotten their hands on them. There are videos on youtube of QBZ97's.

Pay their dues? Who are you, Jack Sparrow? If they can produce the same good at half the price, more power to them. The gun companies rip us off anyway.

sweet, but i thought norinco was pretty much banned from selling firearms in the US? if this is true, then wouldnt NORINCO USA be some sort of loop hole?! and would the build/price be of the same quality as the chinease versions?!?!??! only time will tell:cool:
