I guarantee the Democrats will fight with all they have to pass an AWB, and win or lose they will be done by July 2010.

It is a fundamental, core issue for Democrats. It is a burning issue, why they run, why they donate and support people they know are crooks.

For the die-hard anti-gun crowd, it is a sexual issue (and not in a healthy way). You see your guns as tools. They subconciously imagine your guns as giant steel penises. You are a threat, an object of desire/object of repulsion. For plenty of anti-gunnies, they want you to have big guns and want those guns to be illegal. They want masculine men to disobey the law, to be romantic rebels, to fight the police and lose. Of course they want and think police will protect them, it's part of the Oepidus complex/daddy issues/wanting a strong, endowed lover to protect them.

The 'don't worry about it' crowd is wrong. Nobody thought Obama would beat Hillary for the nomination, but it happened. Likewise, a AWB was unthinkable a year ago but it'll happen. I guarantee with 100% certainty. We don't have the votes in Congress, and the Democrats need it.

VP Biden promised it to his base within 6 months.

That crap talk about "it would be political suicide" should be true, but is actually wishful thinking because a) DNC doesn't ever worry about long term, b) they will pass it at least 6 months before the election so people will forget, and c) the media won't remind anybody.

The talk about "they have more important stuff to do" is likewise wishful. The priorities are well-known: more abortions, more money to their supporters (unions, colleges, ACORN, welfare), higher taxes, a weaker military, 'diversity', gun ban.
