i bought one of those remington 870x synthetic 12m/18cb bs 7rd for about 333.00 plus shipping.has some sort of black type flat finish,plastic stock.gonna be a great hog gun/home defense/work gun.i had the older fancy wood 870's wsay back.was afreaid to scratch them up.this one i do not have to worry about it.

Expresses were first introduced in 1987 if I remember correctly.
I happen to like impressed checkering, both the style and the durability of the early versions. Holds up way better to marsh environments and I never have had a problem hanging onto anything. But, there are plenty out there of every style to suit just about everyone but the Model 12 and 37 fanatics.
