Yes, I have been shooting 10 grs of Swiss FFF in my 44. Accuracy at 25 yds
Is excellent . It's what I am going to use at the Nationals at Friendship in
3 weeks. I am going to try 5 grs of 4F when I get there and buy some. I don't
Have any here.Remember, this Remmy has the faster 1 in 18 twist barrel.

It just seems I've been reading accurate loads in .44's seem to be 18-25 grns.

I've never even used less than 25 grns of 3F. I've used as much as 45 grns, which is near max. Might be able to squish 47 grns per my adjustable measure. I'm obviously not good enough to notice much difference in groups between 25-45 grns at 15 yds. This is out of an Old Army, which I often read of people claiming good accuracy with most anything they use. Maybe so... But I'd need a lot more practice to pull off some of the group sizes they do (or claim to :D).

Please don't misinterpret when I say 10 grs is the most accurate in my 44.
What I'm saying is that 10 grs is what I am shooting best.I am 70 and have
Arthritis real bad in my hands and wrist. If I was 10-20 years younger, I would
Be shooting 18-20 grs. You shoot whatever you shoot the best. If there was a rule that I had to shoot 18 grs, then I would have to stop shooting. I just can't
Take the recoil anymore .If I have to shoot a little piddly mouse fart load of
10 grs to keep me shooting, then so be it! We all get old.

Kwhi,,good to you! If all you can do is use nothing but the cap and a wax bullet then keep at it and have fun! I am about two weeks away from 54 so not really old yet but i have lupus real bad so i am having a hard time too. One thing i have learned about becoming older that young guys dont understand is that we still think pretty much the same way in our minds as we did at 20,our body just does not cooperate, lol.I guess thats part of the reason i cam out of lurking here and started joining in.At least i can have convo with you guys and i enjoy reading about what others are doing and i still learn something new every day.Too bad i didnt listen more when i was young and it would have done me more good back then.

Kwhi,,just wondering,,have you tried light loads in a .36? I know the .36 is a little bit heaver gun and it seems like it would have even less recoil than the .44.

Yes, But as you say, the 36 is heavy. Problem here is that I can't hold it out.
The Euroarms is the only one I can hold anymore. It is a lot lighter than the
Piettas and Uberties. Some old fart told me as I was aproching older age
"Travel Light and carry lots of Money"

I suggest weighing that 45 grain charge first. The volume powder measures are notoriously inaccurate.
If you were referring to my post, you must not have read it... And if you weren't, I don't know what you were talking about.

My "45 gr" of Graf's FFFg thrown from an adjustable "volumetric" measure weighed 38.7 grains, as I previously posted.
