What great deals have you found on Gunbroker?

I bought a Rossi Plinker .22 revolver earlier this year for $269. plus $30 shipping from a GunBroker seller. Its almost new and is very accurate. Rossi ceased making this revolver in 2015 so I feel lucky to have found it. Its my walk in the woods gun. Otherwise most of what I look at on GunBroker is over priced IMO.

I have gotten a ton of stuff this year from Gunbroker. Here are some of the deals I was happy with. Ruger Nightwatch Commander for under $500 shipped, a couple of CZ SP-01 each under $500 shipped. M&P 2.0 FS for $300 shipped. A Savage Mark II 22LR and a Ruger American 22LR $275 together. NIB Glock 17 Gen4 for $415 shipped, that's cheaper than GSSF coupon. M&P Shield 2.0 for $250. And a few cases of ammo for less than any online vendor or local store, $180 for 5000 22lr, $145 for 1000 9mm. Almost all of these were done in the first part of the year, and pricing has gone up over the summer so I haven't had any deals in the past three or four months.

All firearms were NIB and all ammo was factory loads.

Here are a few ---
Top : S&W DSC , 1943 , neatly stamped on backstrap : A.O.P. ; Arkansas Ordnance Plant . Finish (Parkerized) very good , one small blemish ; Action , bore and grips excellent. Acquired 2016 for $397 .
Middle : S&W m.15-3. Finish worn , bore is fine , excellent shooter. Acquired 2016 for $198. (later regripped for $35)
Bottom , Iver Johnson Sealed 8 Supershot. (1940's...?) Finish , several blemishes in bluing , no pitting. Bore is fine. Original grips are solid , action is good and tight. Got it last week , $117. (yes , &117.)

There are still deals to be had on Gunbroker. Diligence and patience are required to land them. Kind of like bass fishing.

D4858AD1-B7A1-4626-9BDE-783AD75FAD90.jpeg A Ruger Mark 2 Lipseys slab side for $400. Very few were made. It goes well with my Lipseys short barrel.

I bought a NIB Remington 700 CDL .243 for $540 + $25 shipping. The gun MSRP is $1080. I've bought a few others for fair, if not bargain prices, but that CDL is truly a bargain.

I've bought many guns from gunbroker, but usually pay (way) too much to get something unusual or rare.

Best deal I've gotten was less than a year ago - 1990 Win 70 FW in 6.5x55 for $550ish.

Oh yeah, also got a T/C Icon Classic in .30-06 for $525 recently. Also got, about 5 years ago, a Rossi 62 clone - the rare hard chrome one with 16" bbl - a minty one - for I think $335ish.

1.A new in box Henry Bigboy Brass .357 for $530.This rifle sells in the high $700’s at Sportsman’s.
2.A S&W nickel plated pencil barrel Model-10 made in 1977 like brand new $305.I’ve seen ones not even close to the condition of mine for $500+++.
3.High Standard Sentinel model-107 9 shot 22lr. perfect like new in box.$214.I’ve seen similar ones in the condition for $400+.
P.S.Only bid on no-reserve auctions and don’t start bidding 4 or 5 days out raising the price up.Also if your the only bidder go back and keep raising your own bid by $5 dollars 4 or 5 times.Your own bid won’t raise the price any for the item but it looks like a bidding war is going on and people tend to stay away and you slide in under the radar.

Beautiful four-digit serial number (1956) unconverted Ruger Blackhawk in .357 magnum. There was a misspelling in the listing, so it wouldn't come up on most searches; I found it browsing. I didn't get a steal, but I got it for the seller's opening bid price, which was very fair; there were no other bids.

I found a life lesson on gunbroker: don't buy through businesses that care more about collecting auction fees than they do about protecting buyers from scammers.

I consider the $200+ I paid to learn that lesson to be a bargain.

No idea what your "Life lesson" was on Gun Broker so the comment is pretty much useless. I once had a life lesson about fast moving rivers.

Well, I consider losing $200 to be a great deal compared to what some people have lost through some of the shady sellers GB allows to remain on their site. Glad I learned that lesson early in my online gun auction adventures. For instance, one experience posted here this week details a $1700 purchase through GB that went south...Whew, that would be quiet a blow.

I have purchased 4 pistols thru GB in the last 1.5 years. The last one was a bit difficult. The payment was to be made thru a debt card on a Friday. Came back the purchase was denied by my bank and the shop owner was out for the weekend for a funeral. I was finally able to get a hold of my bank to find the transaction was denied because of them as it was flagged as a suspicious purchase. Because of that GB would not allow me to continue to checkout. I'm sure the seller was thinking bad things about me until I called him by phone that Monday and explain. Don't remember what we had to do but we had to work around GB checkout to get him paid..

Got my Ruger SR9c for $250 shipped.
Not sure if that's a great deal, but it's only a bit more than half of what local shops wanted.

Got all the pieces I needed for my dad's shotgun for under $20. Shipping cost more than they did.

I've bought project firearms through them such as barrelled and bare receivers, firearms missing parts, etc. I have only had two that never shipped the items which was about $40 in total loss.

On the new stuff, the price differential is not great enough for me compared with lgs in the area or some of the online sources like AIM surplus etc. to purchase by the time shipping and transfer fees are included along with risk of purchase. I don't think I would buy a true collectible via Gunbroker either--too much of a risk of being burned via fakes and the like. On used guns, my highest bid is what the firearms parts would bring separately or purely for function (for those with no remaining finish).

Good advice, except.... if you don't start bidding 4 to 5 days out, this goes against the idea of presenting the false implication of a bidding war - so when exactly do you begin the self-out-bidding? 1 day? 2 days? 3 days? or what? Thanks.

"Tikka T3 Stainless, 223, for $325 shipped"

That is indeed a steal.

I have found a few deals.

Taurus Raging bull 454 casual for $450. Has a scuffed up barrel but functions perfectly. No one else bid.

Got an old 3 screw 357 blackhawk for 385 shipped. Came with an aftermarket fitted cylinder in 9mm

Winchester 92 lever action 44 mag for $700

2 magnum research BFRs one in 45/410 the other in 500 magnum for $600 each. I have tried many times since to do the same thing again and failed every time.

Knowing what you want and being creative in your search terms, being willing to waid through a lot of unrelevent auction listings, being patient and diligent and willing to let it go if the price gets above what you initially decide to pay...all pay off.

But as others have said there is real value in finding things that you just dont see anywhere else. I have never seen a Dan Wesson 357 max in person before last spring, when I found and bought one on gunbroker. Same thing with my Ruger 357 max Blackhawk.

The best deals how ever I have always found by frequenting gun shops. There are a couple locally that I know give great deals and they know me and bargain with me all the time.

I've bought several black powder hunting rifles from these auctions. Prices usually range from $30.00 to $35.00 plus shipping, so total prices range between $50.00 and $65.00 for a functional modern muzzle loader, often with accessories like slings, scopes, cases, bullets, sabots, and possibles bags. One seller even (illegally) included a filled powder canister and two cans of caps.
My secret is that I primarily shop for these guns just after the end of the primitive hunting seasons but before the weather warms up.
