What gun next when you have the bases covered?

I am on board with your post #18 Gunny. My thinking exactly.
I will go to the gun shows and haunt area LGS repeatedly just browsing for something that is of interest to me that particular day. If I get that take me home feeling I will go for it. Most of the LGS owners are on first name basis with me and will call me when something shows up I just might want first crack at it seems. Or someone I know will be wanting to sell one that I could use to flesh out my accumulation with. So how many 30-30's are enough anyway? FWIW I had my bases covered in the late 70's both with firearms and reloading but that has not stopped me from getting a "few" more. :D Just this year I was going over what I own firearms related for insurance reasons and at current prices I could have purchased a second home somewhere desirable with ease instead. I am so happy I went the direction I did though.;)YMMV
So OP you just might be trying too hard to find that perfect "next one" to get. Just go with the flow and I bet you will be surprised with the results in the future.

For me, it comes down to what is most likely to get the most use in the next few years depending on what friends and family are finding interesting in terms of hunting and competition. If we seem to be one rifle (or muzzleloader) short come deer season, then an appropriate rifle or muzzleloader is next on the list. If we're stretched thin for rimfire challenge, then adding another 22 LR to the mix that is well suited for that would be a priority. If hitting action pistol pretty hard, odds are good we're looking at another 9mm.

My collection is a little thin on M1 Carbines so I would like to pick up at least two more authentic WWII versions. I have an early Universal and a Saginaw Gear Works but I would like to find an Underwood or an Inland or both.

Nothing as of yet in my head for sure, but don't laugh at what may be buzzing.

I love air rifles for the accuracy and back yard fun they can provide --- providing they are of the higher end variety that can perform like the one shown in my avitar. Those bugs were shot at 40 yards with a 177 TX200. I would put that gun up against most 22's on a calm day at that distance.

I have an eye on the Benjamin Marauder with the new regulator option on board and a Walther/Lothar barrel that will be available in the first of the new year.
