"On April 6, 1998, President Bill Clinton signed an executive order to ban the import of 59 different models of military style assault weapons at the urging of Senator Feinstein. The decision kept nearly 1.8 million modified assault rifles out of the United States."

I've heard of the 1989 ban, and know it is the reason imported semi-autos have to have at least 5 U.S. parts put on them, but does anyone know what the 1998 ban did?
