Nightcrawler started a good thread so I thought I'd ask another variation of it. What guns do you shoot the most? Are there guns you take to the range every time you go? I always take my Beretta and my SKS, and lately my AK every time I go.
Pistols: CZ-75 with both the 9mm and the Kadet 22LR slides. Ruger Single Six with the .22LR cylinder (only shoot the .22 mag cyl. occasionally)
Rifles: BRNO #1 .22LR (I shoot often it in my back yard), I rotate through a number of my SKS (mainly the Romanians, Chinese and Yugos), and I shoot my M39 Mosin Nagants a lot, especially the 1970 "Sneak".
Hmm, I see a pattern of guns that shoot cheap ammo here.
Most hammered (just short of being de-crapped ) ....... AK or SKS .. AK usually wins. Then 22/45 and Marlin 60.
Everything else (there on the day) just gets ''moderate'' excercise .... but how ''moderate'' your ''moderate'' is compared to mine .. well ...... YMMV.!
There was a period of about two years that a buddy of mine and I went to the range almost every day of the week that it wasn't raining too much. I always took my Dan Wesson 22 revolver and took either a Taurus PT99, a 9mm Witness or a 1991A1. The Taurus and the Dan Wesson had at least 16,000 rounds put through them during those two years and I'm sure they still stand as the two guns I've shot the most.
I've done very little shooting in the last three years or so... much less than 'back in the day.'
I probably put 10x as many rounds through my little old Remington 581 than any other rifle/pistol I have.
My Browning BPS gets a fair amount of action on sporting clays, trap, and in the waterfowl blind.
I've slowed down , and will for a bit. Used to run 25k rds in 12 bore alone.
Used to run I dunno ~ 15K in handguns
Still it is shotguns,1911 style, Old Smiths revos, and a P-11
My heavily and I do mean heavily modified 10/22 Target gun. I shoot USBR and other precision rifle events with it so as the saying goes practace makes perfect.
A S&W .22 "Kit Gun" revolver goes with me every time.
Lately, I've been shooting the new P-3AT every time I go. Its got to prove its reliability and settle into the "right load" before it goes into the normal rotation.
Getting the "right load" is harder when you reload. So many variables...
Fortunately, looks like Speer Gold Dot bullets and a max or near max load of Unique may prove to be the right load. Next coupla range sessions should tell.
I have the same grips, triggers and hammers on all of my n-frames.
I have tuned the trigger pulls to be as close as possible.
Even with reloading, .38/.357 is just so cheap to shoot compared to .41 or .44s.
2nd most fired is my Colt .45 auto.
Man, I need a good .22 plinking revolver. Anyone got a H&R 999 laying around?
