Here in Illinois, where we are one of only two states (the other is Wisconsin) that totally prohibits any form of concealed carry, we had a great website for sharing information and communicatins with each other. The site was illinoiscarry.com. Suddenly it is gone, and using that name is some travel site. Does anyone out there know what happened? Did the website change names? Is there anywhere to go to find out about efforts in Illinois to advance the cause of concealed carry? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is the owner of the domain let it expire without paying to renew it and it was bought by squatters. I believe the guy that runs the site might also post here though.

along the lines of carry in Illinois, wasn't there some type of bill that would allow retired LEOs and Military cops to carry? I seem to remember something like that.

We had a problem with the hosting company. When I renewed the domain name they did something wrong and the payment was not credited. The have things fixed now and we are back up. If you still can not connect to the site you may have to update your host file. 69.72.168.58 www.illinoiscarry.com
69.72.168.58 illinoiscarry.com. If you do not know how to update your host file I am told that things should work out in about 24 hours. Sorry for the problems.

There is your answer.

Blaster at IllinoisCarry says that when the registration was renewed one of the hosting companies messed up. The site still exists if you know the right IP tricks to find it (I don't) but because the remote hosting isn't happening, you don't get there by typing in the address "www.illinoiscarry.com" anymore.

Supposedly, this will only take a day or two to straighten out and then it will be back.

In the meantime, I suggest the two sites in my current signature for Illinois information. It's been nice to see that some people missed IllinoisCarry when it went down!
