I have the 10MM version and it’s a great gun. Manages the recoil well for my full power 10MM loads. I’m not a fan of the insert for the lower part of the mag well and removed it on mine.

Also like the u dot sights. The factory red dot that came with mine failed and SA had to replace it.

Mine handles well and shoots well. Function has been perfect. I don’t see how you could go wrong with that 45 you are looking at. If I were going to buy, I would buy one the size you are looking at. Mine has the full grip. While having 20 rounds of 9mm is nice, it gets heavy by days end. I wouldn’t mind having a bit shorter lighter grip and 12 to 15 rounds of 9mm. A quick mag change is easy. But, since I have this one I am not in a hurry to get anything els. I have smaller guns if needed. AFC03B5D-4350-421F-B197-CD69B8FDDE23.jpeg

I have been considering a polymer framed compact 45 and the Springfield has interested me. Does anyone here have one? What can you tell me about them?

I got this exact pistol about 6 months ago and it has performed flawlessly(1000 rounds). It has a loaded chamber indicator and firing pin position indicator(both are visual and tactile) and 3 safety’s(trigger, grip,& internal). Comes with a flared mag well that I easily removed. Easy to conceal and compact with the 10 round magazine, but still fits my large size hands.13 round magazines are available that extend the grip to full size. With a match grade barrel and a great trigger, this pistol is very accurate without an optic, but it is optic-ready. Tritium sites are easy to get on target. It has no shortcomings and I carry it every day.

I think I read on here or somewhere else that Springfield discontinued all their non-optics ready XDM's. Sounds like they had a good sale on them that I missed.

While I am a Glock Fan, I have a Springfield 4.5 XDM 10mm. It just fits my hands better than previous Glock 20/21 29/30 pistols I've owned.

I've had no issues with mine. I find I prefer shooting 40sw out of it. Which shouldn't word but does...
