Local gun shop was telling me Veprs go for $800 now. Why aren't they being imported anymore?

Guess I'm glad I got one early.

They are available, gilbertsguns has some...

There was a big stink between IZHMASH & Molot, IZHMASH sued Molot and took over there assets or something like that...

These are brand new production rifles that just arrived. This rifle features a premium wood thumbhole stock, and comes with 1-5 round magazine, 1-10 round magazine, and scope mounts with 1" rings.

VEPR rifles are currently in stock and available in 223, 7.63 x 39, and .308 Calibers. Act Quickly, They Will Not Last Long.

They are hard to come by. Robinson Arms that first brought them in decided to abandon them. I believe another company is working on the rights to import them into the US. Wait a while or pay a premium for the ones already in the US.

P.S. take a look at the Super Veprs. They are the bomb.

What makes the Super Vepr super?

I recall it has a more sporting full-body stock and a different style cover, but is it more accurzied or anything like that?

Match grade fluted heavy barrel. Three point quick detachable scope mount that sit right above the rifle as opposed to the side mount that is typical of AKs. Better stock and I'm not sure if there has been any trigger work done as I have no regular Veprs to compare my Super too. Oh, and with a little work, they are damn accurate....

The only place I know of to get a modified Vepr, unless you buy one from Gilberts and have it tricked out, is Atlantic Firearms. They have two models for sale and each go for nearly a grand. But you've got to figure they've take a $600 rifle and added an Ace Folding Stock (around $150) and an Ultimak handguard (around $180), plus they've milled 'em to accept high cap mags and have added a G2 trigger group. So it really ain't too bad a deal.
