At an estate sale I bought an RCBS RC2 press mounted on an RC Porta Bench, along with some dies and some other reloading stuff. It is all RCBS.

Among the stuff was the item in the pics. Can anyone tell me what it is and what it does.? I've tried every way I know to identify it.

Thanks fer any help.
Mule.

Send email to the guys at RCBS. They know every little piece of their equipment. They'll tell you if it's not RCBS.

Looks like the electron pump off a Flux Capacitor from a 1982 DeLorean DMC-12. :D

Are you sure it's not an electron limiter? It looks like it might he a limiter, not a pump.

Sorry, I just had to lol.

The suggestion to ask RCBS is a good idea. They will know for sure.

I suspect it's some sort of a tube primer feeder.

And I don't think it goes with your Rock Chucker 2 press.

If it is gun-related, and RC doesn't know what it is...it doesn't really exist.
Probably something photo-shopped by a meth-addled "graphic designer" wanna-be. :)

This is the response from RCBS.

"Mule, I have been around this business here at RCBS for 49 years and have never seen anything like this. I’m going to show it to a colleague that is into odd parts to see if he has any idea.

Thank you for choosing RCBS
Have a great day
RCBS Tech/LM :)"

OK then, if the RCBS rep with 49 years experience doesn't know, and rcmodel doesn't know, it really doesn't exist. Lol Either it is only a part if something else and worth nothing or it's very rare and expensive. I have a feeling it's choice #1, sorry...

Thanks for posting the RCBS response. (they are fast)

Got me puzzled....hmmm.

About what diameter is the hole?

Maybe not reloading equipment at all.

He said it's from an estate sale.

It might be part of a malfunctioning heart/lung machine, which is why there was an estate sale...

I wonder if the spring for the lever has been over extended. If the lever was tight against the tube would that catch hold a primer in the tube. If it were mounted where the primer arm came back against it, the primer cup might move the lever back and allow a primer to drop into the primer arm. My bet is primer attachment but you don't have all the parts.

Wreck-n-Crew, the diameter is about 13/32, on the big end, and 5/16, on the little end. I measured it with a 6" scale cause I am at the computer desk in the house.

I go along with those of you who think it might have something to do with priming.

Maybe the man at RCBS will have more information today.

Well, I guess the man at RCBS didn't come up with an answer to the puzzle. Hmmm.
