Made by Hubertus in Germany, a brand I usually associate with knives.

It’s solid blued steel, if you push in the bore with a screwdriver, it pushes a spring back and cocks it. The short bore is not rifled, looks like .30 cal. or so. If it’s cocked and you slide the collar forward, the tube with the barrel can pivot up. If it’s not cocked, the spring inside prevents the barrel from lifting.

No idea how it works or what it does. Anybody recognize this and know what it’s for?

A quick internet search usually yields results, like this: https://forum.vintageairgunsgallery.com/hubertus/hubertus-air-pistols/

Sorry, I thought folks here might be interested in seeing this, but I guess not, they can just see it on an internet search.

Hang on Speedo. The air gun forum is typically very slow in response and nowhere near as active as the powder burner pages. I'm sure there is interest but it just creeps in slowly over here.

Thanks for showing the pistol, Speedo66. Yours looks like it's the 'magnum' version.

I agree. I'm glad you posted the picture as I have never seen one before. It's the first time I have ever seen a gun more ugly than my original Hi-Point 995. Every time I see that gun I have to slap myself for buying it. :)

I’m trying to understand the piece that looks like the threaded end of an iron pipe That is where an ejector port would normally be located. This is an interesting gun and I want to know a bit more. Yes I can go and find info online but very seldom do I run across anybody that has something obscure or rare that can discuss in any detail at all what something does and how it works.

And yes some threads are slow starters, but that is nothing to be too concerned with. I have a post here detailing my UTAS 12 ga and the general consensus is that they are not well made, can’t possibly be an AR10 and are a general waste of money. I found otherwise only by taking the plunge after reading everything I could read about them. If I had found somebody else with one I would have been asking a billion questions. Somebody will eventually find the threads and get something useful from them.
