What is that "ONE ELUSIVE GUN"?

Drilling

I just want a good drilling. Doesn't have to be a show piece. 12x12 over '06. Maybe just a cheapie at < $10,000.

For me, that gun has always been the (ideally suppressed) Steyr TMP. Sadly, living in this s---hole state i doubt i'll ever even lay eyes on one.

I want a Mannlicher Schoenauer in 6.5x54 or 7x57. It has to have the full stock, double set trigger, metal buttplate, and butterknife bolt handle.

A month or so ago, I found one in great shape with a scope and nice mount (can't recall the make, but the mount alone was valuable according to folks with me). The only problem is that it was not in a caliber I wanted. Price was right at $1000, but hard to justify for the wrong caliber. The only fault I fould find with the gun was a repair made in the forearm. I'm assuming it was a repair since the gun isn't supposed to have ebony inlays there. Either way, it was done well.

Those guns fit me well and I like them. Maybe one day...

Chris

I saw it once, a long time ago, displayed prominently in a case at a gun range in Van Nuys, IIRC: MP5K. Pistol grip. Dual high-cap mags. Laser aimer. It was like looking at a sparkling new prototype car at on a turntable at an auto show. I stared at it, slack-jawed, for quite a while. I've never forgotten it, and I've never seen anything like it since.

A >1 MOA AK-103. Sounds like a code and an impossibility all at the same time.

The one that I let get away, is the one that haunts me now. I aquired, and quickly sold, a minty Model 71 Winchester in .348. This beautiful rifle was a work of art. The opportunity for a quick buck, has been regretted ever since.

I have never found another Model 71 in anywhere near that condition, nor at a price I could afford.

Two for my .41 caliber collection I don't have yet. A cherry Automag in .41AMP or a Coonan in .41Magnum. These two are my Holy Grails right now.:D

A schutzen rifle built on a Martini action - that's 'the one'

It doesn't have to be this one...

...but I wouldn't say no!

Boats - doesn't seem like a > 1 MOA AK should be hard to find...I thought they were all like that :confused:

Or did you mean < 1MOA :neener:

The < $400 P7M8 has been pretty elusive for me. If money were no big deal...Sig 552. A minigun would be cool...expensive to feed though, even if you are fairly wealthy.

Gatofeo-

Fantastic story! I hope that rifle is alive and well somewhere and finds its way into your hands someday soon. Keep looking, stranger things have happened.

For me the elusive gun would be a select fire M14. I just love everything about them. While I might not have the opportunity to use it in full auto very often and least I would have it!

I've got a few... a genuine 1903 sniper from WW2, a genuine Mosin 91/30 sniper, a full-auto SBR Uzi, and an MG-42 just like Daedalus described.

If I had to pick one? It'd take putting all four choices on a dartboard and blindfolding me. :cool:

The Ceramic Glock 7:D

Seriously though, some awesome sub gun like an MP-5, UMP, or P-90.

Barrett M82A1 would be nice too.

Glock 18C

AHHH! I can't decide!

Ah, screw it Jennings J22...:neener:

that elusive gun...

Since #1 is taken, I'd love to have Colt SAA serial # 2. As far as I know, it's still out there somewhere.

Plain old ordinary M16A2. Don't need an Armalite with an ACOG, or a Bushy with a bipod, or a space gun or a varminter or an M4gery...just a plain old Colt M16A2.

Whoops, I hit the wrong key. <1MOA AK-103 (Does such a beast exist or capable of being built?)

* 6.5x55SE or 7x57mm custom Mauser from Herr Prechtl (german custom gunmaker); nothing fancy, just deep blue, decent walnut and a touch of gold in the form of the gunmaker's name on the receiver ring ;)

* good old blued Hi-Power

* pre-B CZ-75 (blued too)

Death Star, or a P7M8.

Gatofeo, I've been wanting an M1 Carbine for a while now. I'll check for 4100 as well.

;) :)
