What is the average size of your CCW? + How do you prefer to carry?

I think I am going to start carrying a .380 IWB more often considering how many people I read about doing it.

EDC is a bersa 380cc

if I feel I need more, or have a coat or jacket on, I will carry my HK USP CT with 40 super conversion in a cheapo galco iwb.

For over 90% of the time, my CCW is a Glock 19 carried in an older Blade Tec UCH kydex IWB "Tuckable" type holster.

For those rare times I just can not be armed, it's a Kahr PM9 in a cheap, yet effective Uncle Mikes pocket holster.

I really want to warm up to my S&W 642 as a pocket carry gun, but always end up grabbing the PM9, when wanting a pocket carry gun.

The Right Tool

The closest thing I have found to the ideal daily carry is the M&P 340 with Crimson Trace grips. It covers the following:

Light weight, 13.3 ounces. Night sights. Crimson Trace Grips. Versatile round capable covering .38spl, Plus P and .357. Durable DLC coating (low vis).

There are a variety of carry options, I typically use a Mika Roundcut Pocket Holster. If I OWB it is in a Blackhawk.







If I want something with a bit more oomph and roundcount I pocket carry a Kahr PM in a DeSantis Nemesis.



Mostly though I alternate the 340 with a Seecamp LWS 380 for extreme covert carry. 7 rounds in a DeSantis Nemesis Holster.



13.65 ounces loaded with 7 Winchester Silvertips.

Typically a G27 in a Uncle Mikes pancake holster under a photog vest or whatever jacket I need for the weather. Occasionally in a pocket holster in dress pants. Then when it's too cold to have the jacket open it goes into a outside pocket on a parka in a pocket holster.

When I want something bigger I carry either a Beretta 96 or a 4" S&W mod 19 in a pancake holster under the same jackets.

Either a .380 lcp in a poket holster or a colt mustang (which is a bit bigger and easier to hold on to) in an inside the waist band.

I carry my Glock 23 down my thigh, strong side and my Bersa Thunder 380 at my weak side, also in my thigh. Sometimes I feel like a Michelin woman with two guns but it's OK to have two than none when and if I needed it most. Maybe this winter I will try the IWB holster that I bought last week at the Knife and Gun Show...

Usually a P3AT or S&W 637 front right pocket depending on dress. Both have lasers on them and are DAO and I feel very vonfident with either. No matter what I carry, front right pocket is the bare minimum and is always populated with a firearm.

BUG is anything from an NAA mini .22LR or .22WMR, .25ACP (rarely) or a P32 (often).

Sometimes, depending on where I am going, I add the G30 IWB in a leather holster with decent cant or the PF9 in a clip on cheapie Galco.

 

[Seven For Sure]

IWB guns all have 3.5" - 4" barrels and full three finger length grips. If they don't come that way, I use extensions with added capacity if possible.

Kahr PM9 3" barrel or S&W 642 2" barrel are pocket guns.

I usually carry either a 5" 1911 or a 4" 629.

I prefer OWB holsters for comfort, but have nice IWBs that work great for either of them as well.
