Probably Lapua.

LC brass is pretty rough looking. LC match may be better.

Winchester brass is always the defacto brass that many use.

Kscotto7,

Lapua, Norma, M72 Match. Lapua is the most consistent; Norma is nearly as good, and has an advantage in that it has a larger case capacity and will hold more RL22 and drive a 190SMK at well over 2900fps; M72 Match has basically the same case capacity as Lapua, but is nowhere's near as consistent, although it is much cheaper when you can find it.

What is the best 30-06 brass cartridge for reloading out there
The ones left behind by other shooters on the range.;)

I have used Winchester and Remington without a hitch. For the more expensive brass, Lapua or Norma.

Me, I'm a cheap ass and use range pick up most of the time.:D

Lennyjoe--I'm with you. Never have bought a new round of '06. Plenty of once fired brass laying around. Even use it for forming 7.65 Argentine.

Free range brass

like free range chickens, is a Good Thing.

Kscotto asked, however, what is the BEST brass.

For my fooling-around rifles and ammo, free range brass is the way to go. (E. g. my SKS.) However, for my "serious" rifles, it's Lapua all the way, and Norma if Lapua doesn't make a given cartridge. There is a demonstrable difference in accuracy when using the hi-grade stuff.

Dead-nuts consistent, perfectly annealed, drilled flash holes, what (besides the price) is not to like??

Have heard good things about the Nosler brass but have yet to deal with it personally.

It depends how much prep you are willing to do. If you want someone else (a factory) to do your prep I hear Lapua , Nosler or Norma are the best.
If, like me, you enjoy all the Uniforming, , trimming, deburring and weighing & sorting… Winchester and Remington will produce as accurate load as any. And more for the money…
