What is the last gun that you bought?

Ruger SP101 in 22LR, picked it up yesterday and planning to take it to the range in the morning. Poor lighting on the left side looks like scratches behind the cylinder release but it's not scratched.

A S&W EZ .380 brand new and it is a big piece of doo doo. For whatever reason the trigger gets stiffer and stiffer as you shoot through a magazine until you can't shoot it at all without letting the grip safety go and re-engage. I am sending that hunk of garbage back tomorrow. As far as I am concerned S&W owes me about 100 rounds of range ammo and a new gun. I know it doesn't work that way but it should.... Brand new guns shouldn't do that.

That picture has me laughing out of my seat!

Apologies, friends, for the wait. The TX22 took longer than expected to be delivered to my FFL.

I am in love with the 92FS and my wife loves the TX22. Both feel great in the hand. They’re welcome additions to my safe.

Edit: I have only just now realized that I never included the original message I was replying to in the first part of my post. Idk how to add that so I hope my explanation here helps alleviate any confusion.

I just brought home a Bul Armory Cherokee. It was a total impulse purchase based on price ($300), and I got the full size to use in the woods/yard. I’ve owned two other Bul’s andthey were excellent. The Cherokee is a solid (heavy) pistol but the grip ergonomics are perfect for me. It fits in my P226 holster, which is nice.

My complaint/disappointment is that the safety is a true safety - no decocking. So the choices are carry locked and loaded with the safety on, carry in Condition 3, or thumb the hammer down with a round in the chamber. 😳 I don’t like any of them but carrying locked and loaded seems like the only real option. That’s probably good because the DA trigger pull is extremely heavy at 10.5 lbs while the SA is just under 5 lbs. All in all, I’m pretty impressed with it for $300!

Saw this in LGS a few weeks ago listed for $175. It is in great condition, used on consignment. Researched and saw that it may not be the most reliable and is overpriced, esp used, but a metal frame and a decent heft sat well with me. Few days ago stopped in and saw it had been lowered to $150. Today I went in and on a whim, offered $125. They looked it up and said, yep, they will take $125, that is the lowest they want to go. So I bought it. Gunbroker has them new for $165 plus $18 shipping (and costs for paperwork on my end). Also it came in the original box with manual and an extra mag that has a finger extension, which is $24 new. Can hardly wait to shoot it. Oh the GS gave me a free range pass too, worth about $15. I always ask for a free range pass every time I buy a gun. If it is a reliable shooter, I can buy a 5 inch barrel as shown on the manual below. Current is 3" which should suffice for my plinking activities. They also make these in .25 ACP.

My father had/(has?) one of these. They are fun and fairly accurate. On his, the slide mounted safety by the rear sight began to drop (go "on safe") because the detent failed. I JB welded it in the "fire" position due to the thumb safety also present in the grip panel.

Did I post this?
Can't remember so here goes.

This Pre model 14 has a cool history, a family heirloom type of thing.
It is a K-38 Target Masterpiece made in 1948.

I asked some questions about it in another thread a while back.

It was my Mom's revolver that my Dad sold to his Brother in 1965 to finance a trip for my folks to Canada.
$60.00.
(Mom always keeps immaculate records.)

I purchased it from my Aunt since she approached me if I had any interest.
No, not for sixty dollars.
Inflation calculator was used plus books.
It was a bit rusty....:(

Yup, it HAD to come home with me!

Now the cool part was when I took it to the range.
I shot handloads that either my Dad or Uncle made (Mom said they did work together reloading), could have been over 30 year old ammo.
I recognized the bullets as I now have and use the same mold.

My first shot was a bullseye at 15 yards.
I nearly cried....with JOY!!!

So cool to have this piece of history that will be passed on to one of my kids or grandkids!

Hey!
Use care out there!

I recently bought a well worn @1950 Pre Model 10 2" barrel from my LGS. I bought it because the Model 10-7 with the Peruvian Crest I won on GB arrived in way too good condition to carry. The 10-7 will be shot occasionally/admired & scuffed up pre model 10 carried. So my last gun purchase was to replace my second to last purchase.

^^^ Wow!^^^

Jags bought a handgun!

Cool!

It seems like its usually a rifle that he purchases...........

I bought a new rifle a bit ago.
But will wait to post about it until I can take a decent picture of it.
