I feel undressed without my knife. I use mine for every thing from cutting my fingernails to cutting food. Knife can be used for many things, a gun, not so much.
I am basically not fully dressed if I do not have one of my knives in my pocket before I leave the house.
They come in handy in Church for cutting that stray thread on your suit jacket.
They come in handy for cutting fishing line when fishing. Or cleaning the fish.
They come in handy if you have a tussel with a two legged snake and he nor you has a gun. Hope that never happens to me but I do carry a K-nife that can handle that situation.
I like many carry a smaller lockback knife while i also carry a pistol . I need the Knife almost every day for everything from a box opener to a light pry bar , as a bonus it doubles as a defensive weapon . I carry a gun every day too , and it serves mostly to pot 4 legged vermin or get in the way . However it also serves well as a defensive weapon should i need that . Different tools , and i want both within reach at any time .
Once and a while I will forget to grab my ccw on the way out the door and I can get over it. Howerver I will drive around the block and go home to get my benchmade. If I don't I spend all day checking my pocket and thinking where the hell is my knife. Would it work for SD yes but I don't want to be that close to folks who are trying to kill me.
I've carried a blade in some form for ten years primarily for SD for me and my family. It is also the key to get into things, but that is secondary. Other people use it more than I do like my wife. One sheeple commented "that's scary" upon seeing it open a gift. Not having it when you need it is scary.
