what is the twist of a 6.5 mauser

I have a M96 swede mauser, what is the twist rate? I have bullets that say to use a 1 in 9 inch or faster and some that says 1 in 7.5 inch, will they work in the swede?

Stick a cleaning rod with a tight patch on it down the barrel and measure it.

One complete rotation of the rod, in inches traveled, is the twist.

IE: 1/10", 1/9", 1/8", etc.

Varies.

The 1896 has a 1 in 7 1/2". Other calibers varied from 1 in 7 1/2" t 1 in 9".
