I know that everyone moans about HK's prices, but I was perusing Midway USA's clearance section today and found this HK bipod that was >50% off MSRP. Originally, the bipod went for $242, but now is being offered at the incredible deal of $112. Wait, $242 for a bipod? A BIPOD!? What the??

Seriously, they've got to be kidding, but sadly I believe they aren't...

I can understand someone's deep devotion to the HK brand and their willingness to spend top dollar for an HK firearm, but these prices for a couple pieces of metal (that don't fire anything) is an assault on reason and rational thought.

You've got that right...Sako has always been out of my price range, but the same rationale applies as HK's. It's just crazy.

Going to be some happy HK owners out there with that price.

Just because you don't want it doesn't make it not an amazing deal.

i shot a groundhog at +/- 260 yd yeserday.
bipod was a small tree = free:D

i have a buddy that has to have all the bells and whisles and easly spends more on assories than the gun costs.:what:

some of the items are pretty nice and i like to play with em, but i would never spend the money.

makes him happy, so fine with me. each his own.

he would never dream of putting anything but mfg items on any gun. if they make it, thats what it has to be. cost isnt even considered.:)

That HK bipod shouldn't cost more than $100, max.

robertrtg has those bipods (steel feet version) for $75. He's only charging $140 for the wide forarm and bipod together.

Midway is the one doing the rip-off here.

Midway is the one doing the rip-off here.

And you know what their costs are.....how? Because YOU think it too high, then the retailer is ripping you off?...Get a grip on reality - don't like it, vote with your wallet

HK very pricey...but they can obviously get away with it; don't see it changing anytime soon...I'll be sticking with Glock.

H&K bashers make me laugh. Glock has the G20/29. Other than that HK owns them all in the polymer world. XD/Glock/M&P... prices are getting real close to HK these days too.

But for a bipid, go Harris - no doubt.

HK

Horrible Kompany

I liked the "Hates Kustomers" one, but I think "Hates Kommoners" is more fitting :D

HK is still importing their overpriced and over sporterized sl-8 and usc. Sig and FN are laughing all the way to the bank because they have factories here and don't have to sporterize their rifles.

Only issue w/ midway is i ordered a HK33 magazine loader/unloader a year ago? They had the wrong part number for HK's parts... was on back order for nearly a year. I called them, gave them the right part number, etc., but no dice. After a year i cancelled the backorder.

I do not believe that Midway will EVER deliver that HK bipod at that price.

Regardless of whether or not their customer service is great or terrible, their products are world class. Are they worth a premium, absolutely!

In a world of comprimise.....some don't!(per the HK slogan)------and then again some do and justify it by saying HK is overpriced and brand xyz is good enough, blah, blah, blah.

I'll stick with the best and be happier because of it. :neener:

Oh yeah, my used HK is worth more than your new XD, and it shoots better :)

Who cares.

It's the customer's darn money. Spend it any way he likes.
It ain't no crime if the customer voluntarily pays the money.

I love my USP, and have never had to use their customer service for anything. This is actually the first time I have heard complaints about their customer service. Granted, I've never looked and am not doubting you guys, but can someone explain what the problem is with HK customer service? Again, I am not arguing or defending their Cust. service dept., just curious as to why they are getting such a bad rap in this thread. My USP .45 is one of my favorite pistols.

It's the same reason that they charge you more money for a tire on a Mercedes, than on a Maxima, it's the same 245/17 tire. I had both, my Benz is more money for similar parts. German guns are usually more than others, as are most things German. It's the handmade precision aspect and the asthetics that we love.
