What is your “Loudest” Gun?

foxmeadow: ouch!
Trunk Monkey: that's horrible. I can't imagine on the ships near Okinawa in '45, operating 40mm Bofors firing nearly nonstop during Jap attacks.

My AMD-65 by TGI, the only type of Hungarian AK in the US with the quality milspec Hungarian barrel and matching original components.
"SA 2000 M" is stamped underneath the receivers.

The 12" barrel is made "legal" with the 4" muzzle brake (I know about SBR baloney). Not much muzzle rise, and a nice trigger also.
Standing about three feet to the side of the shooting bench roof (edge) helps limit the noise, but not muzzle flash at 1600 on a winter day!

I forgot to mention "and drinking coffee" :D

Our platoon sergeant brought a new Echo down to the gun line to shoot once. The kid had no idea what the recoil was going to be like (Charge 7 WB) and wasn't prepared for it. When he shot I don't think he let go of the lanyard and the recoil almost threw him face first into the spade. I grabbed his LBE as he was going over and pulled him back.

It definately is a shock to the new guys. We had some ROTC kids come for a "tour". They fell in with their backs to the gun line. We fired a TOT. One poor girl literally collapsed to her knees and started crying.

I started as a 13B. When they found out I could read, I re classified as a 13E.
